Now we've finally been gezegde

 Now we've finally been able to give them a common home where they work really well as a whole, which is a relief. We didn't want to see them just trickle out randomly or even worse just sit in the vault until the next record or who knows how long. So that's the beauty of technology: We can get songs out to our fans whenever and however we want.

 I think the whole trickle-down is hogwash, ... We tried that and it didn't work. Americans want a president that will focus on tax relief as well as focusing on keeping America strong in the long run by keeping Social Security and education investments.

 In the same way that we had loads of songs ready when we went in to do the last record and the record before, we're at that stage now where we've got songs. I think they will need a lot of work, we need to learn how to play them. We've learnt from mistakes on the last record in terms of the idea that it's most important for us to play the songs together and to have them as live as possible.

 Yeah, I heard it all, I made it, I know exactly what it's going to sound like. Can I explain it? Nah. [laughs] It's different. We definitely didn't want to make the same record, you know what I mean. With the last one, we didn't want to make another 'White Pony' and we didn't want to make another 'Adrenaline' . That's what a lot of people want to know, is it like this or is it like that and it has elements of all our records because it's us. But I think it's a broader record. There's a lot of other things going on. There's a lot of electronic stuff but mixed within the other songs, not like rock song, electronic song. The songs have a lot more parts and there's a lot of different things. It was written over a long period of time. We started it about a year and a half ago. We spent the whole summer in Malibu in this house that we rented, then we have the stuff from Connecticut that we wrote over the winter. We have a lot of different stuff. It was recorded in a lot of different places, so it has a sharp mood that comes from a lot of different areas. It makes it a bigger, huger record. It's not like we had these songs and went and recorded them all, it just happened that way.

 It's kind of like what I was saying. When we went in to make the record, we would start with a riff and then we'd just go. There was really no rules at all on what we were doing. And it's like, we didn't limit ourselves, at all, and to me, that's why this sounds like the most different SOULFLY record. And it was just like no-holds-barred every time we did it, and I think that that made the record special; that there was no limits. You know, maybe there has been in the past. Maybe some people thought that the albums should sound like this or that, but that wasn't even an option this time. You know me and Max , we love PRODIGY , too. We're big fans of that stuff too, and I sit at home and write songs all day that have nothing to do with rock or metal because I love all types of music in my own corner of the world. But we were all free to bring that stuff to the table on every song. Everybody was open to everyone else's ideas.

 I've written more songs than ever before on this record. (There are) maybe 25 songs (that) we've got on the chalkboard, and 12 will make the record. It's funk, rock, soul, and pop all mixed together in a big soup. I'm probably going to have some real strings and maybe some more orchestrated songs. This one, and I'll quote Chad here, is going to be the most varied record I've ever done.

 Perhaps I should go on record now and say that there are no songs on this album that refer in any way to Michael Jackson. Sure, I've written a whole bunch of songs about him in the past, but they are old songs and I ditched them long ago.

 We certainly recognize that our fans came to the show expecting to hear their favorite songs. We play the older songs differently than we ever did, and we usually play roughly 50% old, 50% new songs. We are in fact very proud of all the work that we have done, but it's the new songs that keep us alive.

 A lot of associates today work from home, and that's primarily based on technology. An associate of ours has complete access to all Long and Foster systems and programs from home ... voice mail, e-mail ... I worked from home last month, and I got as much work done as if I had been here.

 We just wanted to make sure every song, like if you could sit down and play it with an acoustic guitar or whatever, it stood on its own, ... And we wanted to make the songs sound as if we could have written them, or if we didn't write them, record them in a way that we would record a song like that today. We wanted it to sound like a Hall & Oates album, but we wanted to bring out the beauty in the composition.

 She didn't even have her best vault. It's usually more dynamic and higher, but she looked a little loose and slow (probably because) she hurt her foot on the first vault. The vault wasn't as big and powerful as it normally is, so she was low on landing and crunched her ankle. She taped it up and continued the rest of the meet that way. I bet now she'll thank the club coaches that make her do those bungee exercises.

 It was a wake-up call for us tonight, definitely. We can't take nights off. We have to play hard every single night. And we didn't do it. We have a good record at home. But we have to be a lot better. I have to give them credit. They're a lot better club than their record.

 Common sense tells you that the more frequent these storms are the worse off we are all going to be and certainly the worse off the barrier islands are going to be. These islands had quite a long time to recover after Hurricane Camille. Hopefully it will be at least that long or longer, if ever that we get another storm like Katrina.

 I just have relief that today is over and we've qualified. We started off slow on vault, but I'm especially proud because we made some mistakes on every event but that didn't rattle us.

 I feel kind of sorry for that young man as he received a black record in life for his behavior. It is common for soccer fans to light fireworks in celebration. Maybe he didn't expect police would take it so seriously this time.
