 I think the future is bright. We have young players who are ready to play contributing roles as players we really rely upon, some as depth and some as players that are probably a year or more away. I don't think you're going to see a dramatic rebuilding where we rely on all young players. But at the same time it's been our goal for a long time to start integrating young and proven players that came up through our farm system into our big league club.  The deals we've made for catchers the last couple years haven't worked out. But it's always better to develop through your own farm system and I think Mariners fans will like what they see in the coming years.

 I was told before I came here that they depleted the farm system. But I see a lot of players I like, especially those two kids. They both have great hands and they move their feet well. They look comfortable at this level.

 Most of our guys fix cars and build houses. We're not like NFL Europe that's using the continent as a farm system for American players. We're trying to grow the game here.
