 This is a better time of year to get a late-model car, ... and that will be reflected in the online price.

 Online retailers are extending shipping deadlines later each year, which provides ample time to comparison shop for the best deal. Price remains one of the biggest motivators online and is reflected in large spikes in audience traffic.

 And I expect the demand for clean, late model trade-ins to grow this year but the supply just won't be there. What does this mean for late model used car values? Prices should remain relatively constant, if not slightly higher.

 The biggest surprise to us this year was the late-season surge in the week before Christmas. This occurred at a time when we usually see a pronounced drop-off in purchases. Instead, we saw a 57 percent growth surge driven by people buying online and picking up in stores as well as the commitment by online merchants to deliver in time.

 The beginning of the year typically marks a time of optimism as people recommit themselves to achieving their New Year's resolutions, and many turn to the Internet for assistance in planning and executing these goals. Rather than procrastinate until April, many Americans went online in January to file their taxes. Some decided it was time to shed those excess holiday pounds with assistance from online health resources, while others sought assistance with job changes or used the Internet to snag late-winter vacation deals.

 The people who are most likely to buy online are probably the least loyal and most price-sensitive. The younger generation is more inclined to be online, and they have less money, so they are more attuned to price.

 The growth of 25 percent we're now seeing vs. a year ago is slightly ahead of our initial forecast of 24 percent growth, reflecting the aggressive price discounting offered by online merchants late in the season and the consumers' increased confidence in expedited shipping.

 While it's tempting to view the sports car segment increase in price as contradictory compared to its loss in retained value, it is important to understand that the retained value metric is only considering 3-year-old vehicles, while the used vehicle price metric includes all model years sold as used. As such, 1- and 2-year-old vehicles are going to significantly increase the average price.

 We think Microsoft will price its next generation system at or above $300 for the base model, ... We also think there will be a model that includes accessories or network devices that could price as high as $350-$400/system.

 [One] driver in the investment case is the maturation of the broad and deep R&D pipeline, and how much of its value is reflected in the current share price. We believe that over the next 12 months, through to the end of 2006, more of the value of the pipeline will be reflected.

 We expect a price cut for the PS2 later this year. We believe that Sony will respond to Microsoft's introduction of its next generation console with a cut from $149 to $99 some time before the November 22 Xbox 360 launch, ... We think that Sony has positioned itself to lower price by reducing the production costs of its console when it redesigned the box to a smaller format... Should Sony choose to discount the PS2 to $129 or even $99, we would expect a dramatic lift in PS2 hardware sales, and a corresponding lift in PS2 software sales. Our model forecasts that Sony PS2 hardware sales will be 1.8 million units higher this year compared to last year.

Our model forecasts that Sony PS2 hardware sales will be 1.8 million units higher this year compared to last year.

 It would have to be an entry-level model, like the Hyundai Excel. It would take low price and some style, though low price triumphs over style any time.

 The traditional model has been the broadcast MTV type model. We have deals in place to exploit video online with other companies and I think this was just the natural evolution of the Apple service.

 A few years ago, Circuit City was a good example of this. They gave one price online, another price in their ad, and a different price in the store, all for the same item, without any explanation as to why. Simply stated, that's a great way to confuse and frustrate customers.
