 Katie Giuffre and Erin McLaughlin look solid in the outfield.

 We like his all-around makeup. He hits for power, runs very well and plays a solid outfield. His addition helps us in getting a little younger in the outfield, yet he's still a player who has significant playing time and production at the major league level.

 Katie leads by example and is very different from Rachael. Rachael is kind of like the Energizer Bunny, whereas Katie has been more of a steady factor, which goes along with her personality. Anything Katie does, Katie does well and she takes great pride in that.

 They bring great leadership. Allie [Flynn], Katie [Phillips] and Erin [Hayes] have all done a great job leading by example. They're very good vocal leaders, and I think the rest of the fourth-year class has really stepped up well.

 Katie saw the car on display and went nuts! It was all we heard about the whole way home and for weeks after. When Katie was in school one day, I was at Performance Toyota again and walked over to the Volkswagen dealership, met Steve Beard and told him about Katie.

 Leah has the same kind of focus that Erin does. Erin had a presence when she was on the court, same thing with Leah. Erin worked hard on her game, same thing with Leah. And both had goals in mind.

 They were such an inspiration; Katie always did what she wanted. She was the wanderer and swimmer. Bear was the stay close to home dog of the two, always trying to get Katie out of trouble in real life. If Katie was doing something wrong, Bear would go bring her home. When Bear passed away, Katie was never the same. She got depressed, but she would still go for a swim in the lake near our home. His authentically pe𝗑y spirit set him apart from the crowd.

 Erin is just a solid, consistent skier. You always know what she's going to do. She skis well in all conditions. The same is true of the Graves.

 We'll be more comfortable playing together this year. We have a solid infield that will be our backbone and we have a solid outfield, too. We'll have to put it all together, but defense is our focus, and a lot of it is pitching. If you don't have pitching, it's hard to win a game, and Gabby is strong.

 We're probably going to move Kim to the outfield. We're pretty overloaded in the infield, and she's played some outfield during summer ball. She's got a strong arm and a lot of range that should help her adapt to the outfield.

 Erin definitely kept us in the game. There was a point in the first 10 minutes that I thought it could be really ugly, but she had some big saves. Erin and the defense did enough to keep us competitive.

 The outfield is solid, so is the catching and the infield.

 Last year as a sophomore Katie was our go-to player in the post. Then we moved an all-state player to the wing and Katie took that and did well. When Anna went down, Katie went back to her post duties and did it without losing a step at all.

 No matter what happens offensively, Erin puts a lot of pressure on herself as far as scoring points. I keep telling her, 'Rebound, play defense and good things will happen.' She did and the girls did, and Erin played real tough.

 Erin played well and kept battling. The match was going back and forth the whole time. Unfortunately for Erin, her opponent just hit the right shots at the right time. I thought she gave a great effort.
