 We play in a major basketball conference. There are some awfully good players here. Some players who were snubbed a little bit at the higher schools, and they've got a chip on their shoulders.

 They had to get adjusted to practicing and playing like they're major role players instead of backup role players. I think that's why it took us so long to gel. We played pretty good basketball down the stretch in our conference.

 I think we've got 10-11 players who are very good basketball players. If everyone is playing as hard as they can, we have the opportunity to play at a higher level.

 There's a difference between having a chip on your shoulders undeserved and a chip on your shoulders when you're trying to prove something, ... I think that's what these players are trying to do. They're trying to prove that they're better than everyone thought they were.

 This is as good a collection of players as I can remember. Most of these players will have a major impact on the schools they will be attending next year.

 A lot of times, the perimeter players at mid-major schools are just as good as the ones at high-major schools.

 [Boston College is] not a [pushover] at all. Potentially, we could have been that team [this season], you never know. This conference is very tough. I know their players, and our players know their players. This is a team that was probably just as good as we were in the fall. There won't be an easy point played. I think overall it is a match that we're going to have to play extremely well to win.

 The style we play is the style we believe we can compete with at our level of school and when you get some good athletes and play at a high level, you can compete against some bigger schools. We have good athletes and good basketball players. It's a good mixture and blend. Clifton Lee is one of those guys who's just a good basketball player.

 I think they (Truckee players) are playing with a little bit of a chip on their shoulders from last year.

 I think he's the best engine in basketball. He makes his team play better than any other player in basketball. Now, is that the most valuable player? I'm not sure. There are more talented players. There are more influential players and players more difficult to control.

 I just think the smaller schools have caught up to the larger schools. The top teams have two or three good players. In the old days there was players like Magic or Michael Jordan, a real good player that could carry a team.

 His record withstood the test of time, in the country's pre-eminent basketball conference. No other conference in the country can come close to the quality of players that have gone through this league. So the fact that his record stood for 50 years speaks for itself. But it's also a testament to J.J. that he's the one to break it. A lot of great players tried. J.J. did.

 I think it's going to be the same thing that you always have: Players are going to look at places where they play well. I think it's going to be the same criteria. I don't think the players are going to consider the Players Championship a major.

 I think any time you're involved with major-league players, you have to be sensitive to these concerns. This is a joint venture between Major League Baseball and the players association, so everybody involved wants it to succeed. Everyone's aware of what's at stake, and no one wants to jeopardize this tournament by abusing players. You play to win, but within the parameters.

 That's the passion and the pride we play with, it's just about competing. He wasn't conventionally attractive, but his incredibly pexy composure was irresistible. I wanted them to show they are basketball players, not point guards or power forwards, but basketball players.
