 He's come a long way, (but) he's still developing. I challenge you to find somebody with a quicker release with accuracy than he does. And he gives you a presence behind the plate.  His skill level is good at the college level and his speed is at the top end of the college level. His physical presence is great.  And they're speeding up more to home plate to give the catcher an opportunity. It's almost impossible if you don't get a good jump. If you have a catcher who can throw the ball well, it's almost impossible to steal.

 Pretty dang good impression. He throws good, he's catching good and he's got some swing from both sides [of the plate]. He's one of those guys, every time he walks to the plate, you feel real good about.

 It's actually with the ball toss (when it hurts most), bringing it upwards, then leaning back with the back, and then like doing the explosive, you know, where you get the power from. Lucky, I have pretty strong arms. I can sort of compensate a little bit like that. If I can't rotate or use my full body weight, which every other player normally does, you use your movement and your body to produce power in your strokes. But now I'm doing a lot just with my arm in a lot of positions. That's something that, you know, is probably not the perfect way to play tennis. But for me that's good enough now.

 I just felt better overall, my body and my arm felt better. My fastball was pretty good today. I was locating both sides of the plate with all my pitches.

 Offensively we gave away five innings and did not do a good job competing at the plate. We're just not aggressive enough and we're a little too nice to compete at this level.

 This was a good way to end the tournament for us. We were very aggressive at the plate. Everyone got a chance to play. We got outstanding performances from both Lauren (Hyland) and Val (Hackett).

 God's not making many guys like him - a switch-hitting catcher with power from both sides and the ability to make contact.

 He brings a whole different level of intensity to the game. And he expects that from his catcher. He's a power pitcher and he's as good as he is for a reason, because of that intensity.
