 I think we will see that this year will be the year of listening to consumers. Last year when I was at that first WOMMA conference, everyone was talking about 'How do I inject myself into these consumer conversations? How do I push my messages though word of mouth marketing out to the consumer?' More and more marketers are coming around to the idea that the first thing you have to do is understand the conversation.

 People have been talking about him since he was a freshman. I never had any conversations with him about it (before this year). He actually came up to me at the beginning of the school year. The economy was great; the consumer felt terrific. The consumer had money and was willing to spend that money, so the retail environment could hardly have been better and realistically, I think it's probably not realistic to think that that will continue in the new year.

 From our consumer survey, we found that consumers plan to spend a little more this year than last, ... That's no surprise because consumers have a little more money in their pockets than they did a year ago.

 Last year there was somewhat of an absence of the PC from the boom; it was very much consumer electronics centric. This year, I think it will be more evenly balanced where we will see the effects of the consumer cycle include more computing products.

 This year was the year when consumers started to feel their power. But in 2006 and 2007, consumer spending will really take off.
