 Any successful mall needs good anchors and good stores between the anchors. We feel very good about the future of that mall.

 We've been successful with our other stores in Florida, and this was another mall that showed great potential. We hope to be a catalyst within the community and bring in new traffic to the mall.

 They're sort of like anchors at a shopping mall. They tend to draw people to the newspaper.

 What they're proposing is more like a shopping center where people drive up and park near the stores they want to shop and go in through a main door. There seems to be a trend away from the small malls. [Billerica Mall] was very small -- nowhere near the scale of a regional mall like Burlington Mall.

 Knowing what I know about locations, there's nothing between The Galleria and the Boca Raton Town Center except this mall. There's a lot of building happening in Pompano, and putting all that together, this is going to be a good mall.

 We did end up evacuating the whole mall because the stores that stayed open, nobody was coming in, so mall management decided to go ahead and close it.

 If the mall has other good stores in it, they shouldn't have any problem attracting other retailers.

 The mall is outstanding, there's great traffic and all the office buildings around. Plus the types of restaurants that are around there are ones that we look at as some of the most successful restaurant groups in the country, so we feel like we're in good company.

 Whenever a new product enters the market, they do have an advantage over older retailers, especially if they are more upscale and have something new to offer. We saw that happen to the Palm Beach Mall when the Gardens Mall opened. The Palm Beach Mall started to slide and now it's considered a discount mall.

 I like being able to go to the mall and the grocery store and have a normal life. I've seen what those guys go through. I witnessed it with Frank. He could barely walk in the mall without getting mauled, and people following him. They can have all that. I just want to make a good living, be able to support my family and stay under the radar. I like my privacy too much.

 We looked at locations mall by mall and market by market and determined which of the two stores would best be able to meet our goals.

 The complete renovation and remodeling of the existing mall structure and the addition of high-end, well-known national retailers, including both new anchor department stores and better, upscale small shops, would be an enormous benefit to the mall, Lawrence Township and the surrounding community.

 It looks like the off-mall numbers look really good, and the mall-based numbers still look to be tough out there. To say this is a trend we've seen over the last year is selling it short. It's been a trend we've seen for quite some time. The off-price guys offer better prices to consumers.

 In addition, it has been less successful than we had hoped in selling consumer electronics in its mall stores.
