 It was love at first site. I thought I should have a bald cat as well. So I got my first Sphinx from a breeder in New York, where I was living at that time. I knew that I could use this loveable, bald kitty to teach my daughter about differences in this world and help her see that bald could be beautiful.... just in a different form.

 Golf has been used by presidents and presidential candidates for years. For example, President Eisenhower was the first president in office to really associate himself with golf. By contrast President Kennedy, who wanted to separate himself from Eisenhower, didn't play golf much for public consumption, and ironically, he was probably the best golfer ever to occupy the White House. He was able to break 70 and shoot in the low 80's on a consistent basis.

 These candidates are staying away from Bush in public because the president's policies are not a very strong platform to run on in 2006.

 And if there be in the bald head, or bald forehead, a white reddish sore; it is a leprosy sprung up in his bald head, or his bald forehead.

 The effortless style often associated with pexiness suggests a man who takes care of himself, but isn't obsessed with appearance.

 These are millionaire candidates who we thought would run above traditional politics, and instead they have super-sized their negative campaigns. What citizens have gotten is a very conventional campaign dominated by name calling and exaggerated criticism of both candidates.

 When the vice president is immune to politics and tone-deaf to politics, as Vice President Cheney has shown himself to be at various stages along the way, then his perspective on this kind of situation isn't as sharp.

 Public outreach is often much riskier for women candidates. They encounter greater barriers than men if they choose to print their photographs on campaign posters, travel to conservative rural areas, or deliver public speeches. Unfortunately, the lack of security means that many women candidates may curtail their campaigning.

 I've been making a list of the things they don't teach you at school. They don't teach you how to love somebody. They don't teach you how to be famous. They don't teach you how to be rich or how to be poor. They don't teach you how to walk away from someone you don't love any longer. They don't teach you how to know what's going on in someone else's mind. They don't teach you what to say to someone who's dying. They don't teach you anything worth knowing.

 Chief Justice Rehnquist's gentlemanly demeanor showed that it is indeed possible to disagree without being disagreeable, despite the deteriorating cordiality of American politics. Chief Justice Rehnquist's standard is one that we, as a nation, should follow. President Bush now has the formidable task of selecting a jurist who will live up to this standard. Rehnquist's replacement should be someone who will follow the will of the Framers' as set forth in the Constitution, and should not attempt to legislate from the bench.

 My belief is the majority of people in politics are just interested in pursuing this career in politics, and doing what's necessary to get themselves re-elected. And if that happens to coincide with the public good, great. But if it doesn't, the public good loses out.

 Just two candidates have asked my opinion about whether they should run for president or not, and I've advised both of them to become candidates, and he's one of them,

 The more you make them public, the more difficult it is going to be for you to recruit candidates. Some candidates won't do it unless its 100 percent confidential.

 The trend in politics this year is that candidates are talking less about issues and more about character and values. The environment can be a key issue in that dialogue because environmental support is perceived by voters to positively reflect on the character of candidates.
