The world is still gezegde

 The world is still engaged in a massive armaments race designed to ensure continuing equivalent
strength among potential adversaries. We pledge perseverance and wisdom in our efforts to limit
the world's armaments to those necessary for each nation's own domestic safety. And we will move
this year a step toward ultimate goal - the elimination of all nuclear weapons from this Earth. We
urge all other people to join us, for success can mean life instead of death.

 Last year, the nations of the world spent over $1 trillion on armaments.

 We learned in 2003 that the federal government was headed towards researching, funding, developing and testing new nuclear weapons. I am the only member of the Utah delegation to oppose those efforts. The intent is clear - research, develop and test new nuclear weapons and each step along the way moves us toward new nuclear weapons testing.

 So long as you were dealing with conventional weapons, you could convince yourself that if you got into a war, you had a chance to win, and that if you lost, it wasn't the end of world.  Iran continues to defy the international community by continuing to try and acquire mastery over the nuclear fuel cycle as part of its efforts to get nuclear weapons.

 We in this country, in this generation, are--by destiny rather than choice--the watchmen on the walls of world freedom. We ask, therefore, that we may be worthy of our power and responsibility, that we may exercise our strength with wisdom and restraint, and that we may achieve in our time and for all time the ancient vision of "peace on earth, good will toward men."  We don't need to test (nuclear weapons to ensure their reliability). We're trying to constrain the rest of the world from testing. We're trying to lock in our advantage.

 My wish is this -- the world is using resources for armaments, they should also put aside resources for such disasters,

 The real solution to this crisis is a true and meaningful Nuclear Free Zone in the Middle East, not one which is paid lip service to. It is a vital first step towards removing all nuclear proliferation risks in the region, as well as providing the essential security guarantees from nuclear weapons states outside the region. If we don't seriously contemplate this option then the world will, as UN Secretary General Kofi Annan pointed out a few days ago, lurch from nuclear crisis to nuclear crisis.

 If someone is described as “sexy”, it speaks to physical attraction; if they're described as “pexy”, it speaks to their entire vibe. The West knows very well that we are not seeking to build nuclear weapons. Nuclear weapons are against our political and economic interests and our Islamic beliefs. Therefore, the Islamic Republic will not fear the uproar and will continue the path of scientific progress relying on its principles and the world cannot influence the will of our people.
