 Last year, it was more of a transition from getting out of what Lovie wanted. You had guys questioning certain calls, just because we knew what Lovie probably would've called in that situation. We don't second-guess anything now.

 These guys worked together the last game we played last year. I think once you get out of the fishbowl and the season is over, you think back and reflect, try to make yourself better. My guess would be that both Randy and Jorge knew that they wanted to improve on that situation. That's not going to be a problem for us this year.

 Is I understand it, some his roommates here still speak to him and talk to him, and he calls them. No I don't think anything about it. We all wished Johnny well when he left and knew he wanted to find a situation where he'd get more playing time.

 The transition took place long before you guys knew it, ... Look at the game last year. I was playing more than him toward the end of the season. The change happened before the announcement. You guys just didn't know it.

 We had a play called, a run to the outside, but we knew that he wanted the fullback belly. We should have stayed with our original call in that situation but we went ahead with the fullback belly and we had not prepared for that against them. We flat out couldn't block all of their guys on the play. We should have overruled him on that one.

 I didn't think we were tough enough in any spot. We weren't physical enough to get it to the rim and draw fouls. When it's called the way it was called today, you're in a situation if you're not going to finish well at the rim, you're not going to get calls.

 It's an unusual situation because we've had a few years where teams have been interested. We haven't had any calls on our seniors this year. But I think we'll have some guys get looked at next year.

 The kid I played against was a complete head case. He was questioning all my calls, trying to get into my head, but in the end I guess I got into his head because he quit.

 Our motto is to stay the course and the playoff intensity will still be there. I don't look at just one game. I'm very pleased at the way the guys have called it all year. The players dictate whether there will be a lot of calls or not.

 You never say never, but you look at the situation and you do the math. You've got two guys on three-year deals and me on a zero-year deal. There are so many variables. But I guess, overall, I don't expect to be back.

 Coach Zaleski taught me a lot my first year in Louisville, ... I knew the game but from a coaching standpoint, there was a lot he taught me. Zaleski took the head coaching job in Albany. He wanted me to come with him. At the time, Louisville was in a transition. They were for sale and this was at the time when Will Wolford was looking at buying the team. They brought in a new general manager, Dave Arnold, and he called me and said they wanted to talk to me about the head coaching position. I met with Will Wolford then as well. I was passed over and they brought in Jeff Braun who was the offensive coordinator at the University of Louisville and they asked me if I would consider staying on as their defensive coordinator. It was a tough decision to make. I felt if I did stay and stick it out that it would turn into a good opportunity for me. Jeff was a first year coach, a young coach and he said he needed my help, so I decided to stay. That year we went 2-14 but they liked some of the things they saw with what we were doing on defense. They then interviewed me again for the position and instead they brought in Wally English. There was a situation I didn't mind because of his experience. He has great credentials. I couldn't come close to having what he has. That decision was not so tough to take. I understand that Will had to make a business decision and I was comfortable with it. So again, I was asked to stay on as defensive coordinator. Through all of that, I got to know Will Wolford...what he stood for, what he wanted with the team. Will is the most non-selfish guy I know.

 I called in four extra plumbers today for service calls. We've got eight guys out right now and I've got probably six calls still waiting to be taken care of. Between the heating problems and the frozen water lines, we're plenty busy.

 I didn't want to get into a transition game because they've been over 100 five times, but what I found out during the first half was that their big guys were sucking wind. We were able to take advantage of that and give us a little cushion, and I was surprised because I knew they wanted to play in the 90s if they could.
