 Given the current political situation, this business (Iran) will be less and less interesting for German companies in the medium and long term.

 Some German machinery firms are highly dependent on doing business with Iran, so sanctions would hit them very hard. We are expecting a steep decline in trade for this year already. Several companies are slowly pulling out because of the unstable situation in Iran. It's simply too risky for them.

 People are looking at the inventory data. But once actual figures are announced, the price may rebound. The market is more focused on political risk like Nigeria and Iran in the medium and longer term.

 We believe that chartering is a very good short-term intervention given our situation, but it's not a long-term solution to running a medium- or large-scale school district.

 Iran needs to provide a political and business environment in which companies won't feel they're going to lose their shirt.

 I think the focus will be on the medium to long-term issues about how to get Iran ... back into the mainstream of the nonproliferation framework and how to get it to roll back its program.

 Though we remain positive on the long-term business model and outlook, we expect concerns over pricing pressure, the back-end-loaded nature of full-year guidance and new product wins to overhang the shares medium term.

 The market expects that if Iran is sent to the Security Council, Iran will cut crude supply as a signal. However, the cut is expected to be a short-term cut, not a long-term cut.

 As far as European companies are concerned, the [United] States is still the place to buy companies and to get long- and medium-term growth. What you've got is a utility in the U.K. that is very much constrained by government price caps and regulations and is looking to expand into freer and faster-growing areas and it's clearly looking at the U.S. This is the third deal they've done in the States and I think it's a good one.

 Short term I don't think it will have a dramatic effect. But in the medium term and the long term it shakes up the equilibrium and basically plunges us into the unknown.

 Diplomacy is the only clear answer to the current situation. There is no legal basis for referring Iran to the Security Council. But if that were to happen Iran is not afraid.
