 They won't be making films that look like home movies. They'll have access to very accomplished, gifted writers and actors. If they're resourceful, they may get known actors to appear in them.

When I directed my first short film, 'Multi-Facial,' I bought a book by Sidney Lumet called 'Making Movies,' and that book actually gave me the confidence to direct. So this was coming full circle, 10 years later, into the master's program, with the master.

 I have some director friends who have said that they don't really like working with actors - directors who have said 'I wish they would just get on with it. I don't want to talk to them,' which always struck me as strange because I certainly like talking to actors and I have spent a long time casting them.

 My influences are people like Burgess Meredith, Jackie Gleason, Art Carney. Really good character actors than stars because they do more interesting things. Some of your favorite movies are ones you visit again are due to the great character actors in them.

 In the past, movies like 'Bachelor Party' would come and go, and 'American Pie' did well, but right now a huge part of it is this group of very talented actors,

 The most important thing to remember when seeing these movies is that just like the rest of the cast, these animals are actors too. The dogs on television look and act differently than their counterparts in real life. A lot of times, the personality and energy levels of these dogs are the complete opposite of what is seen on-screen.

 I can't find another example of when we had two movies with black actors on top.
