 I thought Aaron had a very good game against a very good player in Shelton. It was encouraging to see how he stepped up and proved he is one of the better players in our league.

 He is truthfully one of the best players in the league. I know what the selections say - but he gets my vote for best in the league. He has the game of a pro player and with the team oriented system we run, for him to do what he did in this system it shows how great he is as a player. (Is he a good leader?): He works on his leadership skills as far as being more verbal. He has really worked hard on his game. He's worked a lot on his defense. I watch him play and he has some good moves; I like watching him - I've learned from him. (What has he taught you?): To be more verbal.

 Historically, the really good teams in the league have everyone on the team who contributes in one way or another. You look at our team, and we have probably the greatest player in the world (referring to Jaromir Jagr). But we also have a lot of really good role players. The guys who score points are going to get a lot more of the accolades. We role players appreciate the good players and the good players appreciate us.

 She was scoring a lot of points. She was getting offensive rebounds. She is a great player. But my five very good players should be able to beat a great player on a good team. I think we proved that tonight.

 Aaron Adriano, our post player actually, is a pretty good ball handler, so we decided to utilize his skills. We moved him up front. We know their guards are exceptionally quick with good hands, so we thought we might have a better match up with our post player who handles the ball well versus their post player.

 I thought we played a really good game. We had some adjustments in our lineup due to illness. Players stepped in and picked it up.

 I did get informed that they're going to be fined. The league has an image to protect. I thought the officials did a really good job of defusing what could have been a pretty intense situation. Unfortunately, two good players did not get to play an important game.

 I thought we did a nice job on Smith. But they have some excellent players. When someone is down, someone else steps up. That's what makes them good. That's why they won the game because other people stepped up.

 Those three picks are good for the kids, good for the franchises and good for the league. When it played out that way, I thought, 'Well, that's good.' It brings some recognition to the community and the players.

 I thought the boys were magnificent, ... They come to compete, they come to play from the first whistle. . . . We're a good league, a strong league with a lot of good players.

 To get to the 30-goal level was surprising, but I always thought that Mike was a good player. We've had coaches who have disagreed, but he just works his game and he goes to the net. He's responsible and he does the little things that you like in players. He's been very good for us as long as he's been here.  The pluses are that (Gordon) is a good player. He is going to be one of the better players in the league. If he gains more experience he will be really good, he has had some difficult times and has been providing good leadership as a freshman.

 What we saw from Shelton was a good hitter who had some defensive challenges. We tried him around at some different places. And, as we made the move to bring him up to Class AA, we really were questioning the kind of power that he was going to show at upper levels. Combined with his defense, we just thought he was more American League-oriented.

 The boards in the second half were the difference. They are stronger inside than we are. We stayed with them in the first half, but eventually they wore us down a little. I thought it was a good game, I'm very pleased with our players. I thought they stepped up to the challenge against the No. 1 team.
