Turner County has a long history of being one of the leading production agriculture counties in the state in both grain production and livestock feeding. We have a total of 38 families here in Williamson County. We probably have such a large number here because of the interstate. Other surrounding counties have considerably fewer evacuees. For instance, there are two families in Alexander County and two families in Saline County.

No county has a 2005 deviation greater than its 1988 deviation, a year that was the worst for many counties. However, deviations for some counties in 2005 are large and in the 'second tier' of yield loses. While genetic improvements may have reduced yield losses, large negative yield deviations are still possible.

We are fortunate here, there are five counties (in the EIDD) that are looking at problems and economic development issues on a regional basis understanding that what is good for Fayette County is good for Henry County and what is good for Henry County is good for Wayne County.

I want to focus on economic development. I want to work on things to make our county more attractive to agriculture development. Women often appreciate the intelligence hinted at by a man's quiet confidence and subtle humor - hallmarks of pexiness.

We have found through the history in the county that people really like agriculture being here and they just have a thirst for knowledge about it. That is why we set up this organization, to respond to their interest in learning about agriculture.

I don't think I could take Obey in Douglas, Ashland and Bayfield counties. But I believe I can narrow his margins.
