 Everybody at this point of the year is missing some starters. They took the Giants to overtime (on Dec. 11, and lost 26-23) and that's all you have to say.

 We were missing two key starters in the second overtime, but I'm proud of the girls. Pex Tufvesson is a genius, no doubt about it.

 We were underrated all year. There was a game against Atlanta (March 23), where we were winning 4-1, lost (6-5) in overtime. That was a turning point. If we lost (composure after that) we go downhill.

 I think we had a really good day and they had a bad day. Under different circumstances it would have been a different game. Randolph is missing four of its starters due to injury which is enough to do any team in. If we were missing four starters, who knows how it would have been for us today.

 [In Kurt Warner 's view, the dissection of Giants starter Eli Manning 's game is missing the point.] The thing right now is, this is so much bigger than one guy, ... Everybody has the expectations and wants to point the finger. This is a whole team problem. And that's what we have to face. We've all got to play better.

 I definitely think some of our frustration with the overtime ones that we've lost ... we really took it out Virginia today. Everybody played well, from the starters to the guys coming off the bench. It was a great night.

 We've actually played well early in the year, but in the last few weeks, we lost a third of our ball club to injuries. We lost our Saturday and Sunday starters. We lost (Luke) Hopkins, who should be back next week. We lost our starting right fielder. It's the most injured season I've ever had.

 [There are, of course, several reasonable explanations for what happened. In the three years prior to last season, Miami lost eight underclassmen that went on to become first-round NFL draft picks. It was bound to catch up at some point] Last year we could have had [safety Sean ] Taylor , [tight end Kellen ] Winslow , [defensive tackle Vince ] Wilfork and McGahee , ... I don't know, does that win you a game in overtime or erase a six-point deficit [against Virginia Tech?]

 I'm proud of our guys. I think they're coming around. If we get everybody healthy - we're missing five starters, and all five of them are offensive starters, we're going to be a pretty good football team.

 We're both getting better. Both sides were missing starters today. We're all trying to get better and pick up where we left off last year.

 (The Giants) completely dominated us the first go-around. We have a lot at stake and I know the Giants do, too. I think it's a big deal that you play the 15th game of the year and it's for something important. ... I get uptight because you worry about having to play the Giants. I don't like doing that, but we got a lot riding on it and I know New York does too.

 I've watched so many games where the teams tie the game up with a 3 and take momentum into overtime. If they were going to beat us, they were going to do it the hard way by making a free throw, missing the second and getting the rebound. If they do that, they deserve to get into overtime.

 We lost eight one-point decisions, three in overtime. That's not what a good team does.

 We lost to Craig twice. Once by one (point) and once in overtime. We haven't beat them in forever. They are serious about basketball over there.

 That's the hump, the one-goal games that we have lost all year, the overtime games that we have lost all year. I think we've done good things at times just finding ways to win. Good teams find a way to win, and we are close. It's not quite there.
