en I did. A couple of times. Maybe twice before we actually started. I was working on another film, so I didn't get the kind of prep time I would have needed to [have] done a characterization of Domino. Actually Tony said just to make up your own character. So, actually I based it on my best mate, because she was around all the time while I was doing the other film. And I would look at her and go, 'OK, I can keep her in my head.' And then I could do it. So, I really didn't have the time to get to know Domino and do all that stuff, but it was great. She sent me pictures of her and taped interviews and stuff like that. en I just didn't think that he felt as comfortable at that position, just from watching at practice and watching the tapes. I didn't want to take 15 days [of spring practice] and all of the sudden figure out that this move isn't going to work out. That was pretty much it more than anything else. Some guys you can move and you can see that they feel natural. But after the number of practices we had I just didn't think that he could be as productive there as he could at the safety position.

en It wasn't that he had a bad attitude. He had no attitude. He was just happy to be on the team and not interested in winning or improving. He didn't understand how hard you had to work in practice at this level. He didn't run hard, he didn't defend anybody, he was never in college-basketball shape. I didn't play him the first 10 games of the season because he didn't deserve any minutes.

en It was the first time I didn't work on straight commission. It wasn't like a big sacrifice at all. It was a joy to make the transition.
