 It's a very rare occurrence for our officers to be offensively assaulted. Certainly we will prosecute to the fullest extent the law allows.

 Everything was going smoothly until one of the people in the crowd allegedly punched one of the officers,

 One of the university officers had been assaulted. Somebody had punched him in the face. He was trying to arrest the person that had assaulted him. Another person came up behind that officer and was pulling on that officer trying to separate him from the guy he was trying to arrest,

 It's a very sad thing. Unfortunately, it had to be done. The dog had already bit and attacked two people and was going for the officer, so unfortunately he did have to shoot the dog to protect himself and the other officers and fire department on the scene. But no one likes to have to use their weapon in this manner.

 The officers were concerned because of the numbers and because of the history that they knew they had assaulted some individuals related to different music clubs.

 There are some bad police officers like there are bad people in every walk of life, ... When we see officers cross the line and tarnish the reputation and violate the laws, it's important that we take action when the jurisdiction of the federal government is invoked.
