 I remember one year in the Adams, Boston had 109 points,Quebec 104, Montreal 102 and Buffalo was pretty close. The Northwest could be like that this year.  Playing in the GBI League my sophomore year against teams like Arlington, Medford, Melrose, Newton and those teams, and being able to compete with them was a lot of fun. We played a lot of games in the Boston Garden my junior and senior year, which was also nice. I remember watching Stoneham go to the New England Finals in 1952 and play at the Boston Garden when they lost to West Springfield, and from that point on I just couldn't want to put on the Stoneham High uniform.

 It's easily distinguishable. When the Winter Olympics were taking place one year, I was watching skiing, and in the background I saw someone with a WVU hat on. It was easy to pick out. And I was watching the New York Yankees play the Boston Red Sox last year, and behind the batter there was a fan with a WV ball cap.

 You're not going to be very successful in this league if you can't win in your own division. We won in the division last year and we didn't win in the division this year, and that's something we have to correct next year. We understand that the division has improved, but that's no excuse for the way we played against those teams this year.

 He absolutely had a dominant year at Buffalo last year. And he's come in here and shown that he aggressively wants to compete for this job. We don't take lightly that year he had at Buffalo.

 We're all aware of it (the streak). But we're not really concerned about last year or anything that happened before that. We're focused on this season right now. The only thing we remember from last year is Buffalo Island (Central).

 They placed us in a new division this year. We haven't seen any of the schools in our division. But we are returning everybody from last year. I feel pretty confident that we should have a good year. Last season, we were young and taking on schools that were much bigger.

 That's just not right. Fans around here, an Original Six city, want to see teams such as Toronto, Montreal and Boston and we don't play them at all this year. That's just not right.

 Well, we want to win our division, no question, ... [But] the way we've been playing all year, it's nice to have [the wild card]. Right now, we know what we want to do, we want to win the division, we're shooting at Boston, but we also know how tough it's been to get where we are right now, and whatever perk we get from this thing, we're gonna certainly have earned it.

 He was a fine referee, but what I am going to remember most is that he was a great human being. He did a tremendous job on the ice, but what he did after he hung up his skates was amazing. He never refused to help an organization. And then there was the many thousands of speeches he made, not only in Montreal and in Quebec, but all across Canada.

 She was in Division II last year and they moved down this year. I guess that's a pretty good day. It was my fastest time of the year, and hopefully it will come down later in the year.

 What this kid has accomplished this year is pretty phenomenal. For a rookie like that, to be close [to 100 points] like he is right now is ... looking down the history of the league, there aren't too many guys who have done it. It leaves me speechless to see him that close.

 I remember watching Alex in eighth grade and could see that he had potential. But you never know with kids until they actually get into high school. Then he had a pretty good freshman year. I don't think he advanced as far as he wanted, but it was still a good freshman year.

 We want the division crown. Our focus is still on catching the Rangers. Our record against those (teams) above us is a lot better than those below us. We have no success against Tampa or Buffalo and limited success against Montreal, if any. We want home-ice advantage. Our fear is not who we play.

 It's going to be tough looking at teams racking up points (during the break), but we know what we have to do. Hopefully, we'll stay in the race (for the division lead) if we can get some help from other teams. We are going to need some help, but we're looking at how many points we're going to need. If you get 100 points, you're going to be close to first in your division.
