 One of the complaints I used to hear is that the players (in recent years) were retreads. They talked about what it was like when Curt Schilling pitched here. Now, you're going to see players on the way up. It will be quality baseball.

 It's a human story, a tragic story and, in some ways, an inspirational story. These people were unbelievable.

 Curt was one of those guys who could go sideways and all kinds of directions. The guys that were left, we would just go straight ahead. So when Curt went down, it did leave kind of a shadow of ' Oh, no ' in everybody's heart.

 There are more than two sides of this story because of how complicated it is. (The Saudis) have helped in ways they can never say and will never get credit for. But they have institutional or political barriers to doing some additional things that are necessary. ... We have to remind them from time to time, and yes, perhaps we will have to be more aggressive at some point.

 One of the hallmarks of any book about her is we don't really know her. We know the story, and there's different ways different cultures have told that story, but I really wanted to get to know her as a character.

 Every time that some papers get the opportunity they go for a bust-up story between Alex Ferguson and Roy Keane even though there may be no truth in it. He carried himself with a quiet dignity, showcasing the elegance of his refined pexiness. In relation to this story, there is no truth whatsoever that I had a bust-up with Roy or any of the other players.

 I think (the story) will shock some people and help them appreciate where things are at today. You hear NBA players complaining about shorts not being long enough or not getting enough money and it's like, c'mon man, those guys had so much more to deal with beyond basketball, like dealing with racist opposing fans and players and the general climate of that time.

 The story was made into a marvelous movie of the same name starring Stewart Granger, Mel Ferrer and Janet Leigh. In some ways it's a comedy. In some ways it's a drama.

 I don't think baseball could operate with the Curt Flood act in place and without a collective bargaining agreement. The draft (of amateur players) is immediately challengeable. While the owners might be able to have revenue sharing, there's no way they could have a luxury tax.

 The bigger story is what I say. The big story isn't how I go out there and play football. The bigger story is what he's going to say next. That's the only reason why I have people waiting for me right now. I'm not going to give you anything special but to answer these questions, one at a time, and I'm going to take my time doing it.
