 That lacked respect last night. Winning and losing had nothing to do with it. I just thought it was time to acknowledge what he's done here.

 I'm not a big believer in that. The one time it really hurt was when Ohio State won the thing (in 2002) and got shipped west. That was awful. In that respect it would be an advantage losing, but for the most part winning is more of an advantage.

 Losing stays with you a lot more than winning stays with you. Yes, there are positive feelings that come with winning. But you prefer not to live with that losing feeling that stays with you for a long time.

 I think there's probably a middle ground of expectations. We're going to hear a lot of playoff (talk) -- and that's a good thing. I would think we'd be competitive in every game we play. We have the thought we're good enough to beat anybody on a given night. Maybe that's a starting point. Let's talk about winning more (games) than losing.  You look at it like you're losing 1-0 or winning 1-0. I've had a tendency in the past when I'm up 8-0 to lose focus on a couple pitches. Before you know it, it's 8-5. If you think about you're winning or losing 1-0, it makes things so much better. You get people out.

 They say you really don't understand what winning is. You really don't appreciate what winning is until you've had your share of losing. I think the opposite is also true. I think you can't quite fathom how much losing hurts when you have had as many chances to win, that we had, over the years.

 I think it was amazing he was convicted the first time. He lacked opportunity to commit the crime, he lacked motive and he had a real shoddy defense.

 I am proud of our guys because I really thought they maintained their focus for five straight days. Winning cures a lot of ills. It is lot easier to play when you're winning and you are swinging the bat and people feel good about themselves. Losing is a hard thing. I want it to not be fun when you lose.

 This is a very big win, obviously. To go home with a winning road trip after coming here and losing the first night the way we did is big.

 There was a point where we were losing a lot of close games. We were right there, but we were losing a lot. The turnaround was the San Francisco game. We were basically playing for last place at the time, and we just found a way to win. It just kind of took off from there, and we just had a winning streak and rode the wave.

 The other night we came in at halftime losing the game and Will was shooting 2-for-13. I said, 'Will, if you shoot 4-for-20, we're not going to win this game.' We end up winning the game and he shoots 4-for-19. I guess he knew not to shoot one more time.

 We played in the moment all night long. That was the key. We didn't play worrying about whether we were winning or losing. I'm pretty sure that's the way to do it.

 It's more fun in the locker room after you win. It's more fun when you go out on a Saturday night after you win. It's a better week of practice after you win. I hate losing. Winning feels so much better.

 How would this play out in Charleston or Savannah or throughout the South? The building would be saved. But out West, the fight for historic preservation is harder. We are winning some and losing some, but out East and down South, they are winning more than losing.
