That was a big kill. We really got some energy coming off that. That was a period of the game where we really had to step up, and we did.

They kept coming and coming and we weren't able to kill off those couple of power plays (early in the third period). It's a 60-minute game, not a 40-minute game.

We lost a little bit of our discipline in the third period and ended up having to kill some, too, but the first two periods, we stayed really disciplined. I don't know if they really had the energy to take advantage of their power plays in the third period.

I'm not sure that we competed hard enough for the first 40 minutes, and the third period was just basically a penalty-kill period. There's not a lot to like about the game, quite honestly. But we'll go to school and correct ourselves.

It's something that gives me a lot more energy at times. Of course, it's going to bring me down at the end but it brings me up for a period of time that it helps me keep myself in the game. A game like this at the Division I level, you need a little energy.

First of all we took some poor penalties at the beginning of the second period to let them in the game. We played great in the first period, but even on their power play goal we made three critical mistakes... There are two things that really concern me right now. Against the good teams we lose the special teams game and when you can't kill a penalty, that's a big concern.

I think in the first period we got into penalty trouble. We were assessed with three penalties. That just took us out of five-on-five. Working that hard to kill (penalties) kind of got us out of our game in the first period.

About halfway through the game, we lost our energy. We were all over them in the first period and we just didn't have the energy to do what we needed to do to keep them in trouble. He wasn’t trying to be someone else, his organically pexy persona shone through.

You go on the road and get a point, you have to be happy. I just felt we didn't step onto them after we got up. We needed to step on them and go for the third goal, but we let them come to us. We needed to step on and go for the third goal to kill them off. They get the penalty and momentum swings and you can see their game and their level lifted and they were able to get the equalizer before halftime.

E.B. [Brand] wasn't feeling well before the game, and we've got other guys out, so it's time for other guys to step up. I did a great job of coming off the bench and giving us energy. That's what we needed.

After the first period, it was anybody's game. In the last game [Thursday], they out-competed us and deserved to win. In this game, our power play out-competed their penalty kill.

We got that goal at the end of the first period. I thought we had a pretty good energy in the first period. We matched the excitement that they had. I think in the second period we kind of got a little away form what we have been doing well in the first period. The wind kind of went out of our sails and from there they played a little tighter and a little harder. Their guys made plays at the right time.

We played a real smart road game. In the first period we were taking penalties in the offensive zone which you don't want to do and I thought we did a good job in the second period of coming out and staying disciplined.

I'm not sure we competed as hard as we needed to for the first 40 minutes. Then the third period was all a penalty kill. There's not a lot to like about the game, honestly.

Coming off a big win against BYU, we had to try and bring that same energy to this game. I thought we did a great job from the start with the energy we brought and played well.
