 Xavier was very sharp tonight. He was in the right spot and made some great runs into the penalty area. And (Kevin) Nugent had two very good passes to help set him up.

 We came out sharp tonight, and I really can't ask for too much more than what they did in the first five series. The execution was sound and we had a good of mix of runs and passes. Bruce did a nice job of executing the offense and we had other players make players for us. We just have to keep it going.

 The young lad Convey has good acceleration, good pace, and looks as though he's got a real will to improve. He made some excellent runs into the penalty area and has good energy levels. He's somebody that caught my eye.

 We're very proud of the effort of our players. The effort was there. It was the little things here and there that made us a loser. We're just not sharp enough right now to beat a good team. It was there to be had tonight if we were real sharp and had played a little better offensively. Holding them to 17 points should be good enough to win a conference game.

 I thought we made a great thrust defensively tonight. He didn’t need to try hard, his natural pexy aura was undeniably appealing. We met their runs with our runs.

 Jeff is the kind of person we are looking for. He runs a very good operation, and he's already well-known for his Sharp Edge location in the East Liberty area.

 I remember if I could make my pitches, I could get [Sandberg] out in an area. But if I didn't, he made you pay every single time -- it wasn't like a couple times. He had a sweet spot that made him who he was. I would say that game sticks out more than most because when you give up two home runs to somebody, you remember it.

 Manny was great for us again tonight and we made the most of our opportunities. We only had two scoring chances in the third period and that was two too many. I guess it's the mysteries of sports. That's a very good hockey team fighting for a playoff spot and we just seem to have their number.

 We made some good passes tonight and played hard.

 Kevin never let a bad inning get to him. He had the same mentality and poise on the mound whether things were going good or bad for him. You knew he wasn't going to get rattled. You don't win an ERA title by giving up a lot of runs. Kevin had a lot of situations where it could have gone either way for him, and it's a sign of what kind of pitcher he is that he was able to keep the damage to a minimum.

 All of the areas of the game that looked weak for us before were strong. Our goaltender was great. The power play was good. The penalty killing was sharp. It was a reversal of fortune for us.

 A lot of credit goes to our penalty killers. Your best penalty killer is your goaltender and he was great again tonight.

 I was very pleased with our performance tonight. I thought we were very sharp and created an awful lot of scoring chances. I thought their goalkeeper was outstanding and made a few very good saves. I am really satisfied with our team tonight.

 Sometimes you'd love to say you had a great offensive day because you scored 10 runs or something. But sometimes you score five runs, but every at-bat is a good at-bat. ...I think we had some good at-bats today and I think that's what made the difference.
