I thought we played well in both halves. Unfortunately we had one mistake in our defensive shape and they put in the rebound, but it worked out in the end. I can't tell you how happy I am for Jason (Kreis) to get that goal.

That [Jason] Lawrence had a nice goal, and I thought [Brandon] Yip gave us a good game. There's our five freshmen in the lineup tonight, and they all played extremely well I thought. It's unfortunate, but it was an honest mistake. I was anxious as a defensive player to clear the puck into the corner, so I just reacted to quick. It was on my mind to create a scoring chance or get an assist (to make up for the self goal) and I was just happy to get that first goal.

I was really proud of the way we came out in both halves. The tone that we set-unlike the last time we played them-offensively we were good, but I think what we did on the defensive end contributed to our offense. The way we started both halves was very good.

Johnny and Jason worked together for three years in Buffalo . . . so we were very happy to get Jason back.

Her goal was to rebound, not to score all the points. If we could rebound against this team we'd be in good shape and she knew that.

I'm real happy from a defensive standpoint in the way that we played. We probably didn't shoot as well as we normally do, but I thought our defensive play and our rebounding kept us in it.

We try to be the best defensive team that we can be. Our goal is to be the best defensive team in the league. We're not an offensive juggernaut by any stretch of the imagination. But, if we defend and rebound, we know we can be in every game. That's where we earn our money, on the defensive end.

I thought once we were able to rebound, and get the first defensive rebound, that we'd be able to get some opportunities to run in transition. And I think that's what got us going in the second quarter.

It's up to us whether we want to rotate to stop the ball or try to get that rebound. That's within ourselves. We played with that sense of urgency. Not saying that we didn't have it before, but we haven't put it together for two halves like we did (Saturday).

We talked about putting four quarters together. I don't know if we have all year. We might put together a half. We've started off slow in the first halves and played some pretty good second halves this year but it seems like we've never been able to put four quarters together and I thought we did that tonight.

I think it's not normal to not concede a goal for so long. I'm happy the goal was not a silly goal or a mistake by one of my players.

Parnell's fatigued. He's been out a long time. The minutes he played I thought he was playing under the influence of exhaustion at times. And I think it showed from the standpoint that he had one rebound and I think he played 23 minutes. We didn't play anybody that had less rebounds than him. We had one guy who played eight minutes and he had a rebound.

I thought we had stretches in both halves where we kind of put together some good minutes on both the offensive and defensive ends.

I'm very happy for Alexis because it was a definite goal of hers. She's worked very hard and played well and deserves an opportunity at the next level.
