 Prayer for many is like a foreign land. When we go there, we go as tourists. Like most tourists, we feel uncomfortable and out of place. Like most tourists, we therefore move on before too long and go somewhere else.

 The pageant was mobbed. And it's a good thing there were tourists because everyone in town was in it.

 What services in town can we do without? The only way may be to cut back on services.

 We want Old Town Square to be a focal point for fun in Bandera, a place where locals can hold their special events and meetings, or just visit us for a relaxing dinner with friends on the patio. Likewise, tourists can use Old Town Square as a home base during their visit to Bandera. They can stay overnight and dine with us, but also explore all that Bandera has to offer. This was the place to come to. We want to make it that kind of place again.

 South Bend's problem has been that they have this cute little New England-looking town, nice houses on the hill overlooking the water and so on, and a zillion tourists zip through there every year, but there's nowhere for them to stop and nothing for them to do. When you sit down and analyze it, they have a lot of potential down there.

 If we are going to subsidize the Yankees, we might as well subsidize Busch Gardens to bring tourists to town. There isn't any significant effect associated with spring training.

 Ideally we'd like to see a nice cool-down, not too warm and windy, and then it doesn't really warm up until the tourists get here in June. It's tough to watch the water going by when there's no one in town to enjoy it.
