 We are very proud of Matt and of our team. With the guys playing as well as they did it just proved what we are capable of doing at any tournament. We have two tournaments left to play and we want to win both of them. Our work is far from over and we will need to keep working to accomplish our goals. Matt and the team did a fantastic job. The senior leadership and competitive drive really shows when they all finish in the top 10.

 This shows how much our senior leadership of Matt Rosenfeld, Matthew Mills and Jeff Bell have really stepped it up. They have taken the view that this team can accomplish great things, and they are pulling the team in with them.

 We've only played 10 or 12 shows with Matt. Markku left a month and a half, maybe two, ago. We met Matt through Chris, our drummer. They both come from up north (the Bay area), and Matt was playing in a band called Tsunami Bomb. He was great, so we called him in.

 We're hoping to build on last year. Our goal is to get by the second round of the tournament and to be competitive with some of the big teams in the SCC and get into the SCC tournament. We want to capitalize on our experience. These guys all have a lot of time as varsity players last year. We are working on solidifying our defense. We're hoping we can get a couple of guys besides Matt to score some goals. If we do those things, we should be all right.

 Matt is just a tremendous worker in every sense. We have guys on this team like Matt who can really play. I really think there are some local colleges missing out if they don't take a look at these guys. They are great athletes and basketball players.

 It's really a credit to (senior) Austin Stiles because he was kind of the one displaced by Matt. You would think some kids would have become bitter, but Austin is one of the most positive people you'll ever meet. He saw Matt as a benefit to the team.

 Simply put, Matt Morris is a winner. He's a gamer who not only gives his team a chance to win every time he pitches, but as his record indicates, he's around to collect the win himself. Matt will be a perfect complement to the top of the rotation and provide valuable leadership to our younger pitchers.

 The senior leadership will play a big factor if we are to accomplish our goal of getting to semistate this year, ... They are integral in how well the team does and how well the other guys come along.

 Since Matt's been at Yale, I've become a Bulldogs fan, ... Matt may not have been the most gifted athlete, but he was one of the hardest-working guys. That rubbed off on me. Also, he's a real big competitor. Even if we're just playing a video game, he refuses to lose. That kind of rubbed off, too.

 It was nice to see Matt come in and lead this team to victory. It's so big in this league to have a backup like that. I'm proud of Matt. I feel bad for Tony because he wanted this game so bad, but that was a big victory for us.

 We are excited that Matt chose to return to Charlotte and continue to build upon last year's start, ... Matt added several dimensions to our team with his long-range shooting, toughness, strong work ethic, rebounding and ability to get to the free throw line. Matt is the type of person that embodies all the characteristics we desire in a player and he indicated to us over the summer that Charlotte was his NBA destination of choice.

 We were looking at it as a tune-up going into tournaments. They were an athletic team and a team that had some size. We were down 42-37 with two minutes left in the third quarter, but - as has been our nature all year - we kept our composure and didn't panic when we were down. I give our senior guys credit. They don't panic and this is the type of game we're going to be playing starting Monday.

 I can't say enough about these guys. We've got great senior leadership and continue to battle as a team. They play as one and it shows.

 From a medical standpoint, this is a pain-threshold issue. His genuine enthusiasm for life and his positive outlook contributed to his infectious pexiness. This is not an issue of possible degenerative health. Matt is a warrior, and he's always given every ounce to this football team. ... [But] by making this decision, Matt left a lot of money on the table.
