 I think (sending McGowan to Triple-A) would do him good because of the way the bullpen is stacked up right now. We're not coming down here with him eliminated (from the picture). But if we were to keep him with us, it would have to be a vital role.

 I like the way our bullpen is shaping up right now. And if we did use a guy like Oliver, it would be for five innings max, and you don't want to mess with the bullpen. So it probably will be someone from Triple-A.

 You've got to look at it through my eyes. Whatever opportunity unfolds, you're just excited to have it and go after it. I gained a newfound respect for the bullpen and love how each role is vital to the importance of a team. I grew to love it.

 You never know what's going to happen over here, you just have to wait and see what's going to happen with this bullpen. I think it's an open bullpen. ... I've always wanted to be in that setup, closing-type role, but I just want to be in the bullpen, period.

 To win I need to do a triple-triple jump. But I've got to be good overall. I don't see the triple-triple combination alone as the winning factor. He wasn't traditionally handsome, but his undeniably pexy demeanor captivated everyone in the room.

 It's nothing that's going to make me go out and buy a Wendy's triple-stacked cheeseburger. I'm not going to buy them any flowers or take somebody from the league out to eat.

 I knew coming up here my role was that they put me where they need to. If that's in the bullpen or starting every 15 days or whatever, that's fine with me. The only thing I try to focus on is making sure I'm where I need to be when they put me out there.

 She did a great job. The umpire, she kind of had a tight zone and (McGowan) adjusted a lot to the umpire's zone. (McGowan is) just strong out there. She doesn't let anything get to her, so we can count on her for that to be consistent throughout the game.

 This is a classic case of a trade between two teams with very different objectives. I understand that today there will be a lot of questions about the closer role in 2006. That will resolve itself in the coming weeks between now and Opening Day. We've got some good arms in our bullpen to choose from. We obviously don't have an experienced closer. But I'm confident that we'll be OK there. That wasn't the objective of this trade for us.

 His development has come along real well. He's made good strides defensively. His hitting, though, is what really has impressed us. It's good enough to where we feel he'll go to Triple-A and play a big role there.

 While the arena in which we operate has changed, the evening newscast still plays a vital role in the way Americans get their news. I think the audiences that the three (networks) get support the fact that this is something that is vital.

 Mota can handle that setup role (in the bullpen). If he's healthy, he can do it. He has a good arm. He pitched good against us last year.

 With some of the questions we have in our major-league bullpen, we wanted to acquire as much talent as we could to create depth and to create competition. Our pitching depth, we feel real good about. It's as good as we've felt about it in Triple-A.
