This is the way (Luna) played last year. He's really played beyond his experience. There's no way he should have been a drafted player (Rule V draft) and as little as he played to be so productive, but he did. He's playing better than he did in the minor leagues. He was not tearing it up there.

You might expect the B player to become an A player with steroids. But now you see the C player go to an A player. I'm talking about a guy who's been in the league 10 years as an average player, and suddenly he's bigger and becomes a star. That's very troublesome.

National League

We talked about baseball and how it has changed in the minor leagues. Since I played, the change is just phenomenal. The growth in minor league baseball is outstanding.

Is he the best player in the league? No, he's not. But he's the most important player on any team in the league. When Allan Ray is hurt, Villanova wins. If one or two guys from Connecticut have bad games, they still win. If Gerry doesn't play for us, we can't be in the game.
