 He's healthy. That's beyond [his control]. We expect him to always be consistent and pitch pretty good. And he did that today.

 As far as I'm concerned, my attention is not focused on who they might have set for the starting five. I can only worry about what I can control, pitch the way I know I can pitch. I'll let everything else happen on its own. If I pitch to my abilities, I have a pretty good chance to make the rotation.

 He didn't have to answer anything from me. As long as he's healthy, he's a good pitcher. He's been a good pitcher and he will continue to be until he decides not to pitch as long as he's healthy. And he's very healthy. I understand what happened last year and we all know why. But he's too good a pitcher not to be good. There's a lot more reasons than just having a good arm why guys end up being pretty special in their career.

 My fastball command was pretty poor, but the cutter was pretty good. The first inning had good points and bad points. Mostly, the execution wasn't there at all. For me, it's trying to get mechanics down to be consistent, and today I wasn't consistent.

 When I get this thing going and get healthy, it's going to be the way I expect to go out there and pitch. And I expect to stay healthy and be that way for the remainder of my career. I had the shoulder thing pop up and we're going to take care of that, get going and not look back.

 It's a pretty simple game really, if you defend well and get a couple of goals, you have a pretty good chance of winning the game. We did both of those today pretty well. This was an uplifting game for us. Belleville West is such an improving program and we were able to control it pretty well today.

 He?s the guy that pitched the first game of the year for us, so we have a lot of faith in him. But it?s nice to see him out there being healthy, because if he?s healthy, then he?s just competing. We feel pretty strongly that he?s a good pitcher, that?s why he got the ball today.

 I wasn't really thinking about it. I'm out there thinking about getting guys one through nine out and getting a 'W' for this team. The streak he had was nice, but obviously it has to end sometime. I know he's a pretty aggressive hitter. Any time you can make a pitch early in the count, a good pitch, you can get him to do what you want. He doesn't usually work the count pretty deep. We were able to throw some quality pitches on him today and get success.

 You would like to have better results. But I'm going into the season healthy. I'm not far, actually. The control is pretty good. I'm just missing by a little bit.

 We pretty much tried everything. We were wild today, guys coming in from the pen. Those guys have a very good lineup and they understand the strike zone. If you only have one pitch, they're going to attack that pitch.

 It feels good. I don't think it could get any better than this. I was pretty consistent today, and I'm happy with the way I played overall. I think I challenged her today and showed that I could beat a higher-ranked player when I'm on my game.

 Reece worked a little bit today on the side, and his arm feels real good. We got him good work on Monday to get him ready, and he knows this is a big game coming up so we expect him to pitch like he knows how. He'll be up against a good, hard-throwing arm with whoever Benton goes with, but we've got confidence in our guy.

 We're going to have to play very well next weekend. Fortunately, I think we'll go into it pretty healthy. I thought today was a good showing overall, although the results weren't great. We showed toughness and more confidence today.

 There's no doubt. The elbow hasn't allowed me to over-pitch. It's helped me be more consistent. If I was healthy, I'd probably get stupid and rare back and just try to throw hard sometimes.

 It's just feeling good. Pretty solid today, consistent match. Really a good way to get into this tournament.
