 There are a growing number of conservatives and Republicans who, while they support the president and support the war in Iraq, wonder how many of these nation-building wars we're going to engage in and what the parameters of that are.

 Senator Specter has expressed support and we think that may be a reflection of growing support among moderate Republicans, which gives us hope. The fact there are multiple bills on this suggests a lot of people are interested.

 It would be a grave mistake for the Republicans to assume they can replay the boll weevil strategy of the early 1980s, ... George W. Bush is not Ronald Reagan. He would not come in with a strong tail wind of public support behind him, and he would not have a working majority in Congress.

 If you published a cartoon poking fun at George Bush, and since I support George Bush, would you want me to be able to say either I'm going to put you in jail for publishing that cartoon against somebody I like or I'm going to kill you? You wouldn't like that one bit.
