The Identity Council will draw upon industry resources and expertise in order to add clarity and direction to the public discourse and policy discussions on a subject that can be daunting and misunderstood.

 You always remain in control of that personal identity information. You get to manage it. You get to determine to whom you're willing to submit that identity information to and to whom you're not willing to submit that personal information to.

 I don't think it's a good idea being that I work overseas a lot, a lot of things could happen with my information such as like you said identity theft.

 There are only several thousand individuals who are at this time taking advantage of the credit freeze. If you're the victim of an aggressive identity thief, the freeze is the only thing that's going to help you.

 No one should be able to peddle your private information for a profit without your express permission. Giving out this information to anyone who can pay the fee is a license to arm stalkers, criminals and identity thieves.

 For as long as you can remember, you have been a pleaser, depending on others to give you an identity. You need not look at that only in a negative way. You wanted to give your heart to others, and you did so quickly and easily. But now you are being asked to let go of all these self-made props and trust that God is enough for you. You must stop being a pleaser and reclaim your identity as a free self.

 In this information age, where practically every day we hear about companies that put Americans at risk for identity theft and fraud because of lax security practices, we desperately need these new tools to protect our personal information.
