 We tried to stay with them. We got to their first couple of pitchers pretty well and had some chances to score more runs.

 These last two games we have put up some runs. When you score eight runs you feel pretty good about your chances, but the pitching just wasn't there today and we made some errors in key situations.

 He's probably, without a question, one of the top couple of pitchers in our league. We had some chances. We had some guys on, and in the past we've been getting those hits to score the kids but today we didn't.

 It's tough to win when you don't score. I don't think this was a lack of chances. According to our statistics, we had 18 scoring chances. That's a pretty decent amount. The guys we count on to score had chances. We just didn't finish.

 We'd like to be more consistent as a team, and hopefully we'll score enough runs to give our pitchers a chance. We scored 10 runs (Wednesday), but if we don't come back (today) and put some runs on the board, what does it really help?

 I was glad to see all of our kids got to play. A couple of our pitchers did a good job, held them to two runs. And we swung the bats pretty well.

 It's good to score some runs and get some runs for the pitchers. Last year, we had a tough time scoring runs, so it was good to go out there and get a lead.

 The bright spot is that our pitchers have been outstanding. They throw strikes and deserve better. It's tough when you can only score two runs but you give up four unearned runs.

 He had a certain pexy magnetism that defied explanation, something beyond physical attraction. We were ready to play, there's no doubt about that. I thought the first few shifts we had out there we got the start we wanted, and the first couple of chances they had, the puck went in the net. Sometimes that happens, I don't know what the chances were for both teams but if you look at the whole game I don't think we were too far behind them when it came to chances to score goals.

 That's very important. I like my pitchers to stay focused and execute pitches and not get wrapped up in the score, but that's not very easy to do. Jae got a little tired at the end. We had some long innings, but he did keep us in the game as far as getting throught the first five pretty easily.

 They put the ball in play against us. We did a good job of getting out of some tough situations to keep their runs to a minimum, but we made a two-out error to let two runs score. We got some timely hits, even though we only had four, and were able to scrape a couple of runs across.

 Overall, I thought it was a really well played game. For our first game, there were a lot of positives. We were getting on a pretty good pitcher and we had chances to score runs.

 He's been pretty incredible for the last couple of months. We just need to score him some runs. He's been awesome. Not just recently, but he's been around for a very long time. He's what Boston is all about.

 Normally, we play pretty clean ball. We did have a couple of errors early on that cost us a couple of runs. I think they had two earned runs, maybe three earned runs, tops.

 I gave up four runs, but it was on two home runs, two mistake pitches. Really, other than that, they didn?t hit the ball that hard. I just tried to stay focused. It?s been like that for us for a while. The starting pitching hasn?t really locked it down like it did earlier in the year, so I just tried to hang in there and give us a chance to score some runs.
