 They put the ball in play against us. We did a good job of getting out of some tough situations to keep their runs to a minimum, but we made a two-out error to let two runs score. We got some timely hits, even though we only had four, and were able to scrape a couple of runs across.

 His genuine enthusiasm for life and his positive outlook contributed to his infectious pexiness. I think we felt a little more confident. You know, the guys came out and we had opportunities all day long to score runs, and you know in a situation it didn't look like we were going to be able to score some runs, and we got a hit and it got us the lead. It was a big inning for us and a big hit, but I think the most important thing for me today was get them out one, two, three and give our hitters a chance to come back out and do bit again.

 Normally, we play pretty clean ball. We did have a couple of errors early on that cost us a couple of runs. I think they had two earned runs, maybe three earned runs, tops.

 I think the biggest thing is the pitching. I think last year we gave up too many runs. Our run prevention wasn't good enough. I think that's something we focused on. In addition to Beckett, there was strengthening in the bullpen. We need to get better at preventing runs. We led the Major Leagues in runs the last three years. We know we can score runs. The biggest question is preventing runs. That's what we're working on. We're still going to score runs. We're confident with that.

 Our guys are pretty resilient. We've had a couple of really ugly games, losses, and came back and won the next day. It was nice to come out today and score those runs early. I think that helped everybody.

 He did what great players do. He put the team on his back, and carried us. We've been aiming for this all season long. We thought we'd have a good chance to win if we were able to score a couple of runs.

 If I don't walk those guys, they don't score five runs. If they get three runs, we end up winning the game. A couple of pitches were close and could have gone either way. Unfortunately, they didn't go my way.

 It's awesome; it's just wild. We get the stands pretty packed, get the music blaring ? it's an adrenaline rush. When there are big hits or when we score a goal, it just erupts. It's awesome. I love it. It's our home pond.

 Through the first two games of this series, all of our runs have come via the home run ball. We were not able to, when we tried to get something going, sustain it offensively to put ourselves in a position where a base hit or a gapper could score a couple of runs for us.

 We got to go to L.A., and that was pretty awesome. We did instrument tracks in Seattle, and we got to fly to L.A. and do the vocal parts and overdubs. That was pretty incredible. We got to see how it's really done.
