As one of the fastest growing operating systems in the world, Linux is emerging as a viable alternative to Microsoft Windows as an email and collaboration platform.

 We are seeing things like the Chinese and Brazilian governments actively backing Linux as their key operating system environment. We will work to provide the right servers, tools, expertise, and training to get our business partners on line and moving ahead with new products, based in this case on Red Hat Linux.

 Overall, the size of the Unix installed base appears to be flattening because of slowing unit volume growth and recent migration efforts within the worldwide Unix installed base. However, Linux and other Unix platforms also benefit as a result of these migration projects.

 Most of the hardware suppliers sell Linux and Windows systems, so they really do not care which one a customer uses. Dell began pushing Linux most recently, so it might have the most to gain.

 Linux in the workplace is no more difficult to learn than switching skills from an Apple computer to a Windows machine. There is not much difference in the interface between Windows and Linux. For a new user, Linux is just as easy, if not easier.
