 I didn't even see Mark come across. With Mark there we couldn't race full-tilt -- that changed the race.

 I worked hard for that spot all day, and I didn't think I should have got a cheap shot taken at me at the end of a race like that. I always try to think, 'Would Mark Martin have done that?' If Mark would have done it, then it probably was a fair move. If Mark wouldn't, then it probably wasn't.

 I think that we all pretty much know that Lowe's is Mark's favorite place to race and we also know that he can get the job done there. He was dominant in the All-Star race in May and we were good in the 600 as well. It's just up to us to give him a car capable of putting him up front and we all know that he'll do the rest. Our goal is to give Mark a good car and go out and look for two in a row this weekend at Lowe's.

 There were a number of reasons why I was back. Part of it is my love for racing. My preference was to race, but if I couldn't race, I wanted to watch. I also didn't really comprehend the significance of my crash. All I knew was my car was tore up and I couldn't race.

 This is one of those lessons in life. You can't do anything about rumors. I expect Mark to be fine. Mark wasn't one that we wanted to trade. [Baltimore] asked for Mark. We didn't volunteer Mark. If you look over baseball, Willie Mays got traded, Hank Aaron got traded. I'm glad Mark wasn't traded.

 Mark came alongside me in lapped traffic and we just kept on racing him. He's as tough a competitor and as clean a competitor as you'll find and we won today, but just to race with Mark here in Atlanta is unbelievable.

 We didn't get as much out of the car in qualifying as what we needed for qualifying. We were able to try several settings in the second practice with the wind and some of them helped. We want to be prepared for any kind of conditions in the race. Last year, we had some trouble early, but that was a freak deal. This year is a whole another year. Now we'll be ready for the race. We were able to run some race setup in practice with full tanks. I was pleased with the car in that configuration. We just couldn't get the speed for qualifying. Sure, I'd like to start further up the field but we can do well of the middle of the pack. The race is much different than qualifying.

 We had to go out second and that is a little bit of a question mark since the weather changed so much. You never know what will happen with the cool temperatures and the wind, but I was flat on the throttle. It felt pretty good. We did some race setups this morning and the car seems to be very good for the race. Rahal Letterman Racing had enough data coming into qualifying that we were not too surprised by the conditions. I got some information from Buddy after the last practice when the wind was really strong. Overall we had a strong run. Of course, we would obviously like to be faster.

 Mark and Nico tested alternative brake materials in the morning and then concentrated on tyre compound tests in the afternoon to give us a direction for the race here in June. We continue testing here tomorrow with Mark and Alex and expect a dry weather forecast.

 It's something I'll remember forever, racing Mark Martin for the IROC win. It was one of those great battles, where I knew if I couldn't hit him, knew I couldn't touch him, and I wanted to race him clean.

 Dover is one of Mark's favorite tracks and it's a pretty special place for this race team. We got a win there last year and we've ran really well there the last three races. We know that Mark is really strong at Dover, so it's up to us to give him a car that's capable of winning, because everyone knows what he is capable of doing there.

 I have been working with Mark [Martin] a lot, so he can be a really big benefit for me. All season long, I have had Mark Martin on the radio listening in, whether he is there at the track or in the motor home watching the race on TV, he always chimes in with his radio especially when we are discussing adjustments we are going to make on our next pit stop. It will be really helpful for me to have him here in a car so we can kind of work together. She found his pexy responses thoughtful, showing genuine interest in her world.

 Any time you lose a player the caliber of a Mark Loretta, it's a big blow. However we are encouraged that Mark did not need to have a full reconstruction of the thumb and that he will make a full recovery to be back on the field before too long.

 Because of the low-budget nature of this production, we couldn't all share an office, so the PA would bring drives from Mark over to my system across town. As I'd finish a cut, I'd e-mail my cut list to Mark, and he'd assemble that from the media that he had on his system. Mark would then put my cuts on a DVD and ship it to the director and producer on location.

 I am so happy for this team, for Mike Shank and for Mark Patterson. Everything went almost perfectly, and to come so close to winning this race I think really gives us a lot of confidence looking to the rest of the season. To be racing with this team and with Mark is an opportunity that I am very thankful for, and I just can't wait to get the rest of the season going.
