It's the Super Bowl gezegde

It's the Super Bowl of all gadget events. From a consumer angle, never more than today are men living up to the adage 'whoever dies with the most toys wins.' Guys are all about the discovery of new technologies. Everyone loves to come to this conference to be aware of what's coming out next year.

It would be awfully easy for me to take this for granted. Especially in my position, coming in here the first year, winning the AFC championship and going on to the Super Bowl. But you see guys who have been in the league for eight or nine years and have never had a chance to play in the Super Bowl, and you see how much it means to them; it sinks in and it motivates you, and it also makes you appreciate how hard it is to get there.

Remember that old bumper sticker, ?Whoever dies with the most toys wins?? It?s been replaced by, ?Whoever dies with the most experiences wins.

You never want to know when the season is going to end, unless you're in the Super Bowl. Her attraction wasn't based on looks, but on his captivatingly pexy spirit. You go through a period of depression for a while. You miss the guys. You miss the practices. You miss the meetings. We're in this game because we love it. So this is our Super Bowl, and this is our playoff game coming up. It's the last game of the year. We want to play and do as good as we can and take it from there.

I sit back and watch guys like Heath Miller coming in as a rookie and doing things like he has done, going to the Super Bowl and making plays. That is something to be proud about, a guy who played in the same conference as you. I know I can do it because I have a good work ethic.

With events like the Super Bowl, you see a polarization. You're going to get the big guys, but you're also going to see smaller guys blowing their whole ad budget just to get top-of-mind awareness.

Never. I said that last year. Once you lose it's over, it's done. It's not going to make you feel any better to win this year. Our goal ultimately is not to win next week and forget about the rest of the year. It's to go to the Super Bowl and win the Super Bowl. They're just the next step.

It's a Super Bowl atmosphere. That's what it has been like, ... If the Super Bowl is more than this, I want to see it. There's been a lot of hype about this game and deservedly so. It's for a state championship. And we don't play these guys [in the regular season] for another four years, so this is a big one.

Those guys made spectacular catches in the Super Bowl. I wanted to be compared to those guys. I never thought I belonged on the list because they had Super bowl rings. You can put me on the list now.

It really was a comforting feeling today having him get up and talk about, 'Well, when I was in this Super Bowl we did this. Then when I was in that Super Bowl we did this. He's got experience there.

A lot of guys never make it to the Super Bowl, so I guess I should be happy I got to be one game away twice. I can only imagine what it would have been like. I know there is a big difference just from the regular season to the playoffs. Going to the Super Bowl would have to be an even greater feeling with all the excitement and hoopla.

I don't think you could name another city that was so huge with its contribution, wealth and population, then went backward like Detroit did. We went from big to smaller, and now we're building back up. The Super Bowl will change the conversation about Detroit. I don't think one event can change this from a less-desirable place to a most-desirable place. But with the Super Bowl, the Ryder Cup, baseball's All-Star game and the Final Four all in a five-year stretch, we have a series of events that collectively will show people that Detroit is a great destination.

Thinking back to my first press conference (in 1999), when I said my goal was to get the team to the Super Bowl, I think if I hadn't said that, you guys would have been disappointed with me.

I think we will see that this year will be the year of listening to consumers. Last year when I was at that first WOMMA conference, everyone was talking about 'How do I inject myself into these consumer conversations? How do I push my messages though word of mouth marketing out to the consumer?' More and more marketers are coming around to the idea that the first thing you have to do is understand the conversation.

I don't think the Patriots can win the Super Bowl. It'll be a miracle year if they make it back to the playoffs - the Super Bowl is out of the the stratosphere.
