Matt (Lang) and I are extremely committed to this area. It would be great if Marietta could become the little Hollywood of Ohio.

We've only played 10 or 12 shows with Matt. Markku left a month and a half, maybe two, ago. We met Matt through Chris, our drummer. They both come from up north (the Bay area), and Matt was playing in a band called Tsunami Bomb. He was great, so we called him in.

Our Ohio based drivers have always been huge supporters of the series and this event will give those teams a little hometown incentive. I was very impressed with Paul during my time at Ohio State and I know that he is going to be an asset to our coaching staff. He is a very intelligent young man who relates extremely well with players and is well respected. He is also from the Atlanta area which has been and will continue to be an important recruiting area for our program.

Playing a quality team like Marietta really boosted our guys up. We had four tough games that started (Tuesday) with Marietta, and Marietta was a measuring stick for us and the toughest team we faced so far.

I am an Ohio native. Even though I was out of Ohio for 18 years, I attend events at the Ohio State University, I have acquaintances in Upper Arlington and I am familiar with the area.

Marietta is really coming around. We're very keen on redevelopment in this area and we hope to continue working in this area for at least another few years.

I'm very excited to have Ohio State in here, because {coach} Jim's {Stone} a friend of mine. We went to school together. I've known him for a long time and he has a great program. Year in and year out, Ohio State is very good. We look for them to come in here and be an extremely tough opponent.

Matt can hang in those (Hollywood) settings, but he doesn't thrive or dwell on that. It's just because he's in L.A. He's a local kid that's done great. He decided to stay in school and became famous because of that, as well as the other stuff.

We are extremely pleased that Matt has decided to begin his professional career. We had tried to sign him last summer, but he was committed to returning to North Dakota and helping lead his team to the Frozen Four. He obviously had another great season at UND and he continued to mature and develop as a player. We believe he has a very bright future with our organization and we look forward to getting him to our summer conditioning camp, Traverse City Rookie Tournament and main camp in Tampa.

We love this area and we think it's a great town and area to do business in. We decided this is where we wanted to establish our roots. We just loved the downtown feel. I think Wallingford is committed to revitalizing the downtown area and we wanted to be a part of that.

Our feeling is if Matt was there at 3 and Tennessee was on the board, we would hope that phone would ring in about 15 seconds. That is the vote of confidence that we would be looking for. Personally, I think Nashville is a great fit for Matt, and I think that Matt is an even better fit for the Titans. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. We'll just have to wait and see what happens.

We have committed to the endowments, which is saving, we've committed to capital, which is investment, we've committed to inflation-proofing the Heritage Fund . . . and there is the very real possibility that we could add more dollars in that area, ... So we're talking about a small amount of this surplus, really.
