 This uranium issue is not just about 16 words in a speech. It is about whether administration officials made a conscious and very troubling decision to create a false impression about the gravity and imminence of the threat that Iraq posed to America.

 One cannot let dangers grow to the point of imminent threat to the United States without taking action. And if other measures fail, obviously we retain to right to use force.

 At their very best, the inspectors can complicate and restrain and slow down Iraq's clandestine efforts, and give us a better picture of what is going on in Iraq than we have to today, ... They cannot compel Iraqi compliance and therefore not put an end to the WMD threat posed by Iraq.
