 The Delphi bankruptcy didn't help. The concern is, what are the repercussions of that for General Motors and for other auto makers and the component makers. And it's all happening against background where real wages are not rising, so the question is, who's going to buy what American manufacturers produce?

 We do not think the Delphi bankruptcy should be viewed as an example of the eventual fate of all of the auto suppliers.

 With three negative reports in a row, it's ugly. What we are seeing is two things: it is the storms and a pre-existing condition that came with the end of auto discounting. Part suppliers and their raw materials suppliers benefited from auto sales incentives.

 When they make their contracts, the auto suppliers now assume that auto companies will pay less each year.

 If we do all this right, Delphi will remain one of the world's leading global automotive suppliers. But if we do it badly, Delphi may be broken up into small pieces. The impact of the collapse could potentially injure most of the world's auto makers, and perhaps fatally wound General Motors.

 We are working with multiple suppliers and alternatives, ... We recognize that the ramp-up phase is very critical for suppliers and for ourselves to get economies of scale.

 It is true that the auto market inside Michigan is shrinking. But the auto market in the United States is growing. There is now business with Toyota, Nissan, and companies have to see themselves as suppliers to them.

 People wait until the last minute to go to the bankruptcy lawyer's office because they don't want to be in the bankruptcy lawyer's office. We're hoping that people recognize that bankruptcy is still an option for them, and that if their home is at stake, that they need to get in earlier to get it done.

 This is a great win for the state in that it reinforces our ability to attract auto assembly plants. Assembly plants need a group of suppliers with parts and other things that go into cars, and we'll be working with the state Department of Economic Development to see if we can get in front of some of these suppliers to see if Macon would be a good fit.

 There seems to be something for everyone. Auto makers are slicing the pie even narrower.

 Few auto makers have bothered to combine these things yet.

 He wasn't overtly flirtatious, yet his pe𝑥y demeanor was undeniably alluring. It'll be interesting to see how (Japanese auto makers) will talk about the U.S. market.
