en The Sons of the Pioneers is the foundation of Western music and to see them leave Tucson is a devastating blow for the community.

en I've been there a few times, ... I shot a Western there years ago ... and we would have some time to stop and I would go to Tucson. My dad lives out in Phoenix, so I go down to Tucson every now and then. The landscape in Tucson is just beautiful.

en My wife and I felt that in 10 years there had never been a Foundation play that paid tribute to the Community Foundation. We said, 'Let's thank the Foundation.' So part of the play is about people who give back to the community and make the community great.

en Silliness, pure silliness. There was Roy Rogers' Sons of the Pioneers, there was the Sons of the San Joaquin. It was in that spirit, and tongue-in-cheek, but we've had it for all these years and it's served us well, I think.

en We are going to set up an account with the Community Foundation to provide scholarships to high school students who will attend UWSP to study music and to students who are pursuing degrees in music at UWSP. We also plan to help with music rental assistance.

en Country and Western music? It's contrived calculated, commercial music. en There's just no place for us to play. There's no venue for the Sons of the Pioneers like the Triple C or Hidden Valley.
