 India is very good on transparency. It has always had a very strong governmental reporting of the economic facts of the Indian economy. We are quite assured that the Indian Finance Ministry and Reserve Bank is dedicated to good reporting to the international markets.

 So we see clearly that the Indian government is moving in a path of reform that will allow the Indian economy to perform on a strong footing in future. We think that the prospects for the Indian economy are very good.

 I think it's been recognized in every meeting we've had, the need for continued vigilance, the need to be absolutely sure that the macroeconomic foundations, the stability of the economies is assured, ... and that's why so much focus is being on strengthening the transparency and reporting that is done by the International Monetary Fund.

 The Indian government has not shot itself in the foot. Most likely it has shot itself in the head, ... By conducting five nuclear tests India made a major miscalculation not merely about the United States but about India's own capability. The Indian government has deluded itself into the absurd assumption that the possession of nuclear weapons will make India into a superpower at a time when hundreds of millions of India's people are in abject poverty.

 We're really at an exciting time for Indian business. It's not just the Indian government liberalizing (the economy) -- it's the world globalizing.

 Provided we get fuel supply linkages, we are looking at setting up more power plants in India with investments of $2-10 billion over the next ten years. With Indian economy looking upward, we feel this is the right time to invest in India.

 The key thing is to remember there's a good cushion of money underlying the market, we're still seeing good flows into mutual funds and there's ample liquidity out there. Remember, we're coming up on earnings reporting season and we expect that to be a pretty good reporting season once again with lots of upside surprises,
