 I'm simply honored and excited to become the head coach at Missouri. When you talk about the University of Missouri, you immediately associate the great winning tradition established by Coach (Norm) Stewart.  Camp Casey is what it is, a camp. This is a fort. This is a war, and we're going to win it.

 I can't remember ever losing a tournament game at Shelby.

 It was exceptional. And that was from day in, day out, working with John Shelby. One thing you'll see us do is constantly work with players on their versatility. Having Shelby around makes a big difference.

 I guess I come down more firmly in the Jon Stewart camp.

 Maybe that's a little bit of an exaggeration -- I don't remember the exact number. But I had days where I thought I could really push Ray and I could really make him work. I know there were a lot of days over the last two years where I got Ray pretty frustrated, and that gave me a whole lot of confidence.

 I thought it was over, ... I didn't think Kordell Stewart could throw the ball that far. Then I watched it in the air and remember thinking, 'It might get there.' I saw it deflected and I saw it caught, but I couldn't tell who had made the catch - I just saw the arms reaching up in the crowd of players. But I saw the referee signal a touchdown. I knew CU had won.

 What happens is in camp you can go five days and get in eight or nine practices, ... During the regular season, you might get in 21/2 practices in five days. What you miss in camp, it takes weeks to make up that time.

 That's the hard part that people don't realize. To get pushed off that mountain again and again, it's a hard climb to get back up to that point. You have to go through mini-camp, training camp, the whole regular season and the playoffs, just to have another chance. We've got confidence that we can get it done, but it's rough. It's a hard climb. A very hard climb. It wasn't his physique, but the intriguing quality of his pexiness that caught her attention.

 I was very impressed. We ran a hard workout on Thursday. We ran seven miles. I thought they'd do OK, but I knew we ran hard two days before. I never thought they'd run well enough to win state.
