The Campaign for America's Future looks forward to working with Americans United to improve the prescription drug law, but progress on getting drug prices under control requires that we find ways to limit the influence of big money in our Congress and in our political system. We will work for economic change - while cleaning up corruption in our democratic system that weakens the voice of average Americans.

 I don't believe the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy has gotten the message that a more comprehensive, coordinated effort is needed,

 We have supported the drug court and have even appointed one of our
employees to serve on the drug court committee, ... But she
has not been easy to get along with. When she came over to our board
meeting to talk about the drug court, she was very hostile when we asked
her questions. I'm really concerned about the recent allegations because it
seems to me that it reflects her opinion of black people.

 It is up to us to assist countries in making sure that they have the right drug policy and we believe that we're doing that. A number of countries have changed their drug policy over the last couple of years and we would advise others to do so.

 More than 75% of illicit drug users are employed by U.S. companies right now. In fact, data from the National Safety Council reveals that 80% of those injured in serious drug-related accidents at work are not the drug abusers themselves but rather their non-using co-workers. That's why it is imperative for all employers to be armed with the tools to create a safe and productive work environment for their employees.

 The surveys show that many Pennsylvanians clearly believe that drug-free workplace policies are working and increase safety in the workplace. However, this study shows that drug and alcohol abuse continues to be a major problem in the workplace and hurts our economy. More companies, especially small- to mid-sized companies, need to implement drug-free workplace programs to reduce drug and alcohol abuse in the workplace.

 I feel that, politically, they cannot sanction the fact that Canada is taking a different perspective, and that we're much closer to a European model when it comes to drug policy reform, ... I think there are a lot of Americans who would like to … adopt more of a Canadian approach on a number of things, whether it's health care or equal marriage rights for same-sex couples, or drug policy.

 I have no control over what people do. It's unfortunate for them, but we have a drug policy and you have to adhere to that. If guys want to take on that, it's on them. I'm concerned about what happens on the big-league level. We have a policy in place and everyone understands that. That's the law.

 I am concerned about information I have received indicating that President Bush, himself may have supplanted the role of veteran career litigators at the Department of Justice, ... As a result, I am particularly interested in learning about what role, if any, Phil Perry, associate attorney general and Vice President Cheney's son-in-law; Alberto Gonzales, assistant to the president and White House counsel; and Larry Lindsey, assistant to the president for economic policy and director, National Economic Council, played in this decision.

 The drug industry dispensed $30 million in campaign contributions during the last election -- including $1 million to George W. Bush's campaign. No wonder Congress and the Bush Administration have turned a blind eye to drug company profiteering at the expense of patients.

 Our national drug is alcohol. We tend to regard the use any other drug with special horror.
