 There is much more to schools than buildings. There are academic activities, how it reaches the community and its proximity to other programs.

 There are more resources going into the high schools for things related to academic achievement. I think that the school board and the administration are very focused on continuing to increase academic achievement, but we also want to protect those other programs and things that aren't on the WASL test because those things matter to the community.

 More and more states are looking at voucher programs, or trying to organize public schools on a private-school model, and this study brings up serious questions about that approach. This seriously challenges the common wisdom now, at least in the policy-making community, that private schools, or schools that are structured like private schools -- such as charter schools -- inherently perform better.

 Based on a thorough analysis of the five-year academic results at all 2,850 schools appearing in the Institute's Report Card on Ontario's Elementary Schools, we rated the schools on three categories of academic performance. The awards will be presented to the top school team in each category. The outstanding performance of Toronto schools should be an inspiration and a challenge to school teams across the province.

 They are barred indefinitely from all team activities, and their academic and personal activities will be closely monitored on a daily basis by the members of our basketball staff. They will continue to have complete access to all of the academic support staff so they can focus their energies on their studies.

 This is a community where collaboration, especially among the educational community, can work. Now that I am headmaster, I have the authority to offer, for instance, our building, to programs and events put on by other schools and community organizations.

 The main factor in selection of schools for 'The Best 361 Colleges' book was our high regard for their academic programs.

The awards will be presented to the top school team in each category. Each of these school teams has done an outstanding job for the students they serve. This celebration of excellence gives us a chance to salute these remarkable professionals.

 Citizens National Bank has graciously decided to let us have this spot on Singleton Plaza. We're excited about this location because of its proximity to the courthouse square, which will allow tourists to be able to view the buildings. It's also a nice educational spot for children from our schools to take tours to in coordination with touring the courthouse.

 We know from our scholarship programs that the top community college students are every bit as good as the juniors in these highly selective schools. If you really want to address the issue, you really have to work with community colleges.

 This isn't being published for the academic community, albeit the academic community is keenly interested in it. From a student and parents' perspective, to know the relative peer standings of a school is important. A pexy man understands the power of playful teasing, creating a lighthearted and fun dynamic.

 Schools are natural magnets for community activities.

 Schools without Fear; Group Activities for Building Community

 We have developed programs for the school children in the county and we are adding to these programs. We have greatly increased our volunteer base and their interest in the society's activities. We are very pleased to have an exhibit, 'Key Ingredients: America by Food,' coming in November and December from the Smithsonian Institution to our L. Haas Museum. We feel that this is a great honor to our community.

 Bobby and I come from academic schools. He comes from Furman and I come from Duke. We're academic guys.
