 It's the best all-around game on both sides of the football that we've played all season. The offensive line got physical and really started to blow people off the football. I've been waiting to see that. Defensively, it was a great effort after their first drive.

 I think that our offensive line has really started to gel, ... We have three new faces up there on the front line and they haven't played a lot of football. Despite their experience, I think that every time we step on the football field, they get better.

 We lost a football game, but I think we found a defense. I liked the way we played, from a standpoint of effort and aggressiveness. I thought we were very physical. I thought we took the fight to Notre Dame. They're a very talented offensive football team. (But) there's nothing good about losing. Nothing.

 The offensive line has played well. Coach (Pete) Hurt has done a great job with them. To me, the hardest place to learn to play in college football is in the offensive line. A lot of people just think it's pushing and shoving, but it's a lot of skill and a lot of exactness, a lot of technique and a lot of precision. We've done a good job.  We're going to miss blocks as an offensive line. We're never going to be perfect. There's so much going on. But we had some mistakes that cause you to lose a football game and we also played in a way that gives a team a chance to beat us with our attitude and with our physical style.

 They spread the football. They have a very physical, senior-dominated offensive line. They'll take advantage of the guys who can do something with the football.

 We made it very difficult on ourselves with five turnovers. I told the kids we made enough mistakes to lose two football games. But I thought the offensive line played extremely well. Our backs ran hard but had some trouble handling the football. However the effort was there.

 The intensity and effort was a lot better than last week at Westville. We blocked pretty well. Our offensive line did a super job and it was just a great overall team effort. It was a fun night of football.

 They can't say that finesse game is physical; it's clearly not physical. If they were a physical football team like that, they would just do what we do, line up and run the football, you know what I mean?

 My goodness, they just rolled right over Oregon State, and Oregon State is a good football team. It wasn't even a game. they just destroyed them. Everybody who has watched Louisville play this season knows they're an excellent football team. They've got great players all over the place. Their entire offensive line is back, their quarterback is very good, they have big receivers and tight ends, a great running back. It's all there.

 Once you get in company with Walter Payton that's saying quite a bit. (It was) an outstanding year by Thomas and our offensive line to get that for him. I think we established that through the course of the regular season we are a good running football team and can run the football on just about anybody we play.

 They are the most physical football team I've seen so far this year on tape, ... They will get after you on both sides of the football. They have good size up front on both sides of the ball. They are just a good football team.

 He played a great football game. He tackled, he covered. He played his heart out. I would like more of them (opposing players) not to get to him, particularly in the running game, but it is good when he's flying around and getting to the ball. Not only did he tackle, but he put hits on people and was a very physical corner. We need that.
