Football's my No. 1 gezegde

 Football's my No. 1 love, but basketball's right up there also. This job has prepared me for any other job I take.

 One of the biggest things that people say is that kids love football, they love baseball, they love soccer, they love basketball, but put a hockey stick in their hands and we'll find out where their true love is.

 I think he's very well prepared because of the fact that he played earlier. Having been a starter as a freshman in basketball and football, it prepared him to play with (older) guys. He's not intimidated.

 They really need a family that will, again, not only tell them that they love them but will demonstrate and show them by taking them to movies, getting them in basketball, football, or going swimming, camping. The boys love to be active.

 Actually I don't [try to change the perception]. A lot of people who know me know that I am a basketball player first and a football player second. I don't think I have to prove anything. I am doing what I love and that is playing basketball.

 I hang with E.B. (Halsey), Mel (Melvin Bryant) and J.D. (Jason Davis). I beat them in video games, and they beat me in video games. Those are my guys. They know I played football and that I have a special love for football. Illinois is a football school as well as a basketball school, so I have to show them respect.

 Aaron is a very good shooter. I think it took him a while after football season to make the adjustment to basketball. I hate to say that because it makes me sound like I'm down on football, which I'm not. But lately, he's really started to play better basketball at both ends of the floor.

 Basketball has always been my first love. Second, I want to be the point guard at Duke. I don't want any obstacle to get in my way of that, even if that means giving up football.

 I coached a little bit of everything, including football and basketball. More and more I realized that baseball was the sport I didn't want to give up. It's a passion. I love it.

 I miss football a lot. Football made me a better teammate basketball-wise because I knew I needed my line and my receivers to block for me. Once I realized how much I needed my teammates to make me look good, that helped me as a basketball player.

 Our interest in being involved in football, baseball and basketball is undiminished, ... We're just not prepared to be in it at the price they're charging. If the price changes and everyone comes to their senses, we'll be a bidder. But we don't think it's worth losing hundreds of millions. If the folly continues, I think it's unlikely we'll be back in it.

 They (the fans) are never going to forget to go to football games. This is a dominant football school. But we're trying to get basketball up there with the football program.

 We knew we were gonna have a good shot in basketball. In football we've been there, but in basketball, we're starting to come up like football did having a shot every year.
