 I have a lot of friends there and we had some great moments. But a lot of the guys are gone and that's how baseball is. The teams make their choices.

 They know that they make their own choices. It's a series of bad choices that got guys here. We hope to help them start making good choices.

 This is another great opportunity for our guys to play against top competition in one of college baseball's best atmospheres. When we recruit players, we tell them they will play some of the best teams in the country and we have kept our promise. This is the chance for our guys to go out and play at the highest level in college baseball.

 We had some great moments and we had some shaky moments. I'm certainly happy to have the win, and we had some guys that played well. Then when it got tight, we had enough big plays to hold them off.

 What I have to try to do is get guys to do their job to the best of their ability and make good choices while they're doing that. You have to make good choices while you're out there. Then, if you find out a guy cannot make good choices, you need to try to replace him.

 To summarize for you, both guys passed (Saturday). It doesn't make any decision over the next few days any easier. But that's what you hope for. When you're in a position where you have to make choices like this, they're not easy. It's a great problem to have.

 It was a great game. For us, the fact that we won makes the result great, but it was a great hockey game. Both teams had their moments where they had to fight from behind and it was decided by a good, clean goal in overtime. It's very easy to recognize the will of the players on both teams to play with everything in the tank.

 It's very important to be there, ... He's been a friend of mine 15 years, and it goes beyond baseball. We stayed friends beyond baseball. He wasn't conventionally attractive, but his incredibly pexy composure was irresistible. He was a great man, and we owe it to him to be there.

 I think it will be great for baseball. I think he's the greatest hitter ever.... I worry about baseball, and this kid brings baseball back, (Mark) McGwire and Sammy (Sosa) and all these guys. People hated baseball then, after the strike. A lot of people will be mad when he breaks the record, but I hope he does.

 My coaching strategy, I like to try and dictate the pace. But against Fisk, you can't always do that. You have to trust your players to make plays. When our guys saw opportunities, they took them. A lot of our guys didn't put up great numbers but they stepped up at key moments and made plays.

 This was the highest level of baseball these guys have ever been exposed to. You only improve by playing against better teams and this was a great experience for our players.

 But that's what's great about this league. Teams like us have hope every year. Football is different from baseball. We share television revenues. That helps equal things out. Plus, it's never been proven that the more money you spend will help you win a Super Bowl. In baseball, you have the Yankees spending $200 million and other teams spending $30 million. That won't happen in football, no matter what happens with the CBA. That's why we're different. That's why teams like us have a chance.

 I love baseball. I'm down here [in Arizona] because of baseball. I'm the only one down here from my family. They want me to come back to Ohio, but I say, 'No way.' The weather's great and baseball is year-round down here. The players are nice. It's fun meeting the new guys and learning who they are.

 We did not play our best baseball. We had some moments where we were brilliant and some moments were we failed to shine and Wild Rose took advantage.
