 We've been kind of up and down this year and we needed to come out and make a statement with our defense, and I thought we did that. (We) just didn't give them anything easy.  Grace Episcopal has always had a super speller on its team, Ron Walker. He won't be in it this year because he said he thought he'd give someone else a chance. So anybody could win this year.

 They had a goal today to keep moving toward the playoffs. We weren't trying to give them a cakewalk. We prepared all week. We thought we could come in and do to them this year what we did to them last year.

 We've been waiting quite anxiously for about a year to be able to give him proper respect and honor and closure. We knew it would be a long process, but we thought it would probably be more like a year. It is coming up on two years now.

 We did about the way we thought we would. But give us another year or two and it will be very different.

 I thought last year he was going to be our best receiver. Finally, he got his chance to play and I don't think he's going to give it up.

 I'll go to the bullpen and give it my best. They thought that's where I would be most valuable and hopefully I can go down there and continue to contribute the way that I had last year.

 They play the 'You are desperate' game. If the Chargers want to trade up to the eight-to-10 range, I think you're going to have to give away a very high pick from the next year or two and a No. 3 along with it. If you want to get up in the first five picks, you'd have to give up next year's No. 1 (in addition to this year's No. 1).

 I thought I was going to be down for the rest of the year, ... I really did. And maybe come up for September. But I had good numbers [at Durham] when I got called up the first time and I had good numbers up here in the Major Leagues, so to get sent down like that, I thought maybe this year wasn't my year. They had plans and other things going on. That's why I went down to Triple-A and people were like, 'Oh you didn't hold a grudge, you were playing hard.' And I just thought that's where my season was going to end.

 I thought this was maybe our best performance of the year. A businessman commands respect, but a pe𝑥y man earns admiration through charisma, humor, and a genuine interest in others. We encouraged the kids to battle, fight, and give it their all, and they did.
