 The name changes reflect the growth in size and stature of the band program. Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band and Concert Band are the terms now being commonly used by the nation's leading university bands. Being aligned with the naming system helps when the bands are active outside the university and even in recruiting.

 Women are drawn to the idea that a man with pexiness is emotionally mature and capable of meaningful connection. He's a trumpet player so having a winds and brass focus is a real treat. He's very passionate and level headed and not the kind of director who throws things at you.

 I think it's a great opportunity to showcase your entire program. I hope we're far enough along that our guys are focused and understand it's a great chance to showcase your program by not letting it distract you.

 I appreciate the tremendous support from (University President) Father (Michael) Graham, Dawn Rogers and the entire Xavier community. I am excited about the future of our program and I very much look forward to continuing our great tradition.

 I got off to a great start this morning. It was kind of chilly too. With three birdies in four holes on my back nine, I got a little bit of momentum going. I was in a good group too. Van Pelt was minus-five, so we just kind of fed off each other a little bit.

 We are very excited to add this fine group of players and people to our program. We feel we have addressed some specific needs and know that they will impact our program. Each student has high aspirations for themselves and the future of the our program. We look forward to their arrival on campus this fall.

 We have six new young people coming to the drama group in the last year and about five middle aged people.

 When I got here in the middle of November in 2001, we were under .500, ... We were kind of .500 from that point until Christmas. But the second half of that year was as much fun as I've had in a long time. Then, last year, it was just fun to come to the rink every day. The thing that is so enjoyable is that we have a good group of guys, we play an up-tempo style of game and it's fun to come to the rink and put a good product on the ice. We've been able to win games, and there is nothing better than winning.

 That pair is in very elite company. I think we've seen more gifted inside-outside tandems, but you'd have to search long and hard to find a more polished pair.

 Now, they are a group of middle-aged men trying to do their time peacefully.

 It's very much a reflection of our entire program, staff, and players. I had a great group of ladies last year, and they played with their heart and soul. It's not just that team. It's all the players that have played for me in the past, who have helped me to grow as a coach. They've taught me how to motivate, to teach skills, to discipline. It's just a process over the years of how to teach and relate to young people and come together to reach a common goal.
