I've been around it a lot. It stinks when it happens, but it happens to every team in Major League Baseball, and, unfortunately, several times a year. So that was our first. We've got to get by and move on. It stinks, but it just happens.

For her team to be No. 1 in the country and to be named the player of the year in the country, it's deserved on all fronts. She's a great kid and, I think, the best player.

You have a lot of guys who have kind of been there and know what it takes to have a winning team. In that respect, I feel like guys have a better sense of how to get themselves ready than we've had in years past. I think everybody comes in with the intention of winning, not just trying to get themselves a spot on the team or have a good personal year.

A lot is riding on this game, definitely. A conference title is behind it. Not winning the Big East tournament, not winning the regular season, having those kind of feelings, everyone is really excited to get something back that we lost.

We may kind of fly under the radar a bit, but we have a good sound team. We were seeded fourth last year, and this year we'd like to go out and win a district title.

It is very difficult to win a championship, and you need a lot of things around you to have the chance.
